Full Version: Wal-Mart management on ID check for CC purchase

I was at Wal-Mart the other day and I got a cashier in training. The supervisor was there instructing the cashier. One of the things the supervisor mentioned to the cashier is "for credit cards, check their ID, make sure name on ID matches the card, then compare signature against the one signed on the back of the card"

Perhaps it is Wal-Mart's corporate policy and regardless of the card companies' policies, it can apparently get a way with it, because it is Wal-Mart.

Would have been funny if one of her first customers had refused to show ID... in front of the manager. biggrin.gif

Did you educate them both?

When I have to go to this freaking store, and they have asked to see my ID, well I tell them I guess you would rather me write a check, hold on while I run out to the car to get the checkbook. No skin off my back!

I don't even carry checks with me.

Heck, I don't carry cash much. In fact... I haven't been to a bank/ATM for cash in like 3 months (and when I did go there it was either $10 or $20).

If you don't take credit cards you don't get my business.
