Please excuse me if this has been discussed in the past.

I have two medical collections from 5 years ago. One is $59, the other is $160.

I disputed them probably 3 years ago and once ago 3 months ago. Both times they were verified as accurate.

Is there anything that I can do? Can I use the pre hippa letter?

Thanks,
Daniel

This is the letter I was referring to,

Dear CRA,
My name is xxxxx xxxxxx , my SS # is xxx xx xxxx.
I am sending this dispute certified mail # xxxx to make sure you receive it.
I have no knowledge or records of account # xxxxx on my report # xxxxx.
Please advise me as to the name and address of the medical provider, the date and type of service, and to whom the service was provided.
If you can obtain this information, I also would need the name of the person providing this data, and the manner in which it was provided in order that I may pursue additional legal remedies.
Very truly yours,

xxxxxx
Make sure you HAND ADDRESS the envelope, use personalized stationery and purple or teal font, ( preferably italic).

DO NOT send it RR -WAIT FOR THE FULL RESPONSE FROM THE CRA(30+5 business days) BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE HIPAA LETTER PROCESS

Yes, you can use the medical dispute letter above. Also remember to opt out and delete old addresses if you have not already done so.

Okay, I opted out yesterday. I will try to get the CRA to delete my two old addresses. In the sample letters I see that people are referencing a credit report #. When I pull from myfico, do they give one or do I need to go directly to the CRA's to get that?

I'm guessing it's best to wait 2 weeks after opting out and after the old addresses get removed to send dispute letters.

I've used the online dispute tools for all three CRAs, but equifax won't let me dispute the address I was living at when the medical bills hit my credit report. Says something like addresses reported by credit people are archived on my credit report.

Is there a snail mail way of getting rid of this address? It sounds like this is the address to remove in order to make it harder for the CRA to verify my collection.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Is it EX that won't delete or Eq?

Have you tried disputing over the phone. Many people have had luck removing addresses that way. Also read the link below by Whychat. EX does not like to remove addresses tied to TL's.So do the best you can with the addresses and move on.
