Is it a mistake to contact the OC (via phone) to verify your amount owed and try to pay via debit card over the phone at that time?
I sent a letter several months ago to TU who verified a med collection with a CA. I thought I might give the OC a call and see if I can pay them directly, then work on dealing with the removal of the CA on my report.
Prior to trying that...I wanted to check with the expert adivsor on this first.
Thank you for any inisight you can provide.

If they already turned it over to a CA, the MOST that they will do is to get your CC information and relay it to the CA, thereby negating ANY possibility of a deletion.
If you want to pay the CA, go ahead, it will report as a paid collection.
If you want to pay the OC, do it with the HIPAA letter and a money order.

Ah - Got it! thanks for the advice. No -- no interest in paying the CA. I will follow your steps and submit the letter.
