Go through for a loan

You really have to be more specific. Are we talking about a student loan, a parent loan, a private loan, a car or boat loan??
LynnInMN
Has she done a FAFSA???

I want your help, really. I just assumed that posting this in the student loan thread would be obvious. Its me own fault for not stating it.

She needs a studend loan. Car and boat loans I know about I haven't got a clue for what needs to be done for student loans though.

What is FAFSA?

She should start here ... http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

She can probably get government help; she just needs to fill out that information. And I think she needs to go talk to her financial aid office; they will be a big help. It seems that you know nothing about this, so she needs to get help from someone who deals with it all the time, and that's the FA office.

Of course I know nothing about this and so Far you haven't pointed me in the right direction. I asked for banks that would approve at those scores. No one but you chimed in. I appreciate the help and want as much as I can get, but it seems that asking for help on this matter here has only delayed the matter.

Thanks

Filling this out will let her know if she QUALIFIES for pell grant and federal student loans which are preferrable to private student loans (lower interest, no need for credit approval, etc)...

they ARE pointing you in the right direction..You're just being short-sighted.

Actually no one chimed in because you were pointed in the right direction. Your sister needs to take care of this by going to her financial office...they will direct her.

You have received help. Before sis starts digging into private funds, she needs to see what the government will give her. It's really simple.

You can also visit http://www.finaid.org great website for getting your feet wet on how to pay for education. Your first, or your sisters first visit, should be to the financial aid office. I do private loan apps. The chain is, if you have to borrow money, federal loans -> private loans/PLUS loan.

Yep, the Financial Aid office of the school is the best place to start, they'll be best able to direct you.
