Im 9 months short of being able to get a loan without a co-signor.
My credit is way better than my parents. (740+ but my credit history isnt 2 years old yet)
Ive been denied with my parent as a co-signor (they have a 2 year old ch. 7 bankruptcy, new job after the bankruptcy thats much better than the pre bankruptcy job). I don't know what to do.
Done all the FAFSA stuff but they say im not eligible.

Don't know. They didnt give much information. Besides that they won't give me anything for school. Guess my family has to front all of the money.
I also was homeschooled my last year of high school so maybe that's why. I need quite a bit of funds to go to school this fall. Even a few thousand wouldn't be enough for my first year.

There isn't a private loan company that actually reads your application is there? it seems like all they do is run your credit and don't look at anything else... (jobs etc)

been denied from everyone so far. Might just have to take a year off and wait till I have the 2 years credit history at this rate

Im in the same boat. Dont know what to do either!

This stinks! If I find out an answer Ill be sure and share!

Who were you denied from? Did they send you letters of why you were not approved? If so, did they say it was due to the length of credit history? They have to send you this by law. I'm curios since you have such a high score.

Sallie Mae, Rich Uncle, Astrive Student Loans, Chase.
My credit score is much better than my co-signor would be. The length of my credit history is their problem. As well as positive credit history of my co-signor is their problem. Funny how I can qualify for a Mercedes Benz Car Loan without a co-signor (No I didn't buy the car) but I can't qualify for a student loan.

Try a parent plus loan. My mother was denied and she wrote them a letter. It was kind of a letter talking about her financial and credit situation and that she really wanted her child to have a future etc.

They approved her on Recon for 16,000
