I was reading on another thread and it seemed to imply that if a medical bill was paid to a CA, but it was done by a 3rd party, then you could still send the HIPPA letter with insert B to the OC to get a deletion.

Did I read that right?

I know that if I had paid the CA, then I could not use the HIPPA letters, but what if someone else paid them and I never had any contact with them?

Thanks,

Yes, you can use the HIPAA letter program with insert "b" AFTER you send the CRA's the medical dispute letter and get a response that shows that the CA is actually in contact with the OC and therefore able to verify ALL the data.

Be SURE that you do NOT correspond in ANY way with the CA, as that would get them off the hook on any HIPAA violations.
