This co is Federal lender:elcloans.com: # 884003 located in San Diego, CA. Since not shown as registered entity by CA Secretary of State, anyone has real details about them? Are they just DBA for someone else? Are they affiliate or subsidiary? What legal entity?

Never heard of them.
edm
Little surprised. They offer the highest or among highest incentives currently.
edm
ELC's phone is not going to be listed here.

edm, last chance to stop the nonsense and come to your senses. I have told you time and again that we do not endorse any one lender here; there are good things and bad about them all. If you want to know about incentives, I would suggest you head on over to fatwallet.com and check out the SL info there.

EDM....you were told back in March by the forum lead that this forum does not make recommendations or endorsements on consolidators.
edm
Gosh-sorry if offended: I am not making recommendation. I do not endorse them. I have never done business with ELC. I do not know them. I did not ask if anyone endorsed them. I asked if anyone knows them ? Or, does business with them? These question are typical on creditboards.
Based on your post I am modifying my question to simply ask how does one check out a private consolidator?
Since I try hard to be a good member here, please let me know if I missed something.

I was not able to edit this post. May I please clarify: What I am asking how does one check out a private consolidator? What does federal Lender ID # mean? Who issues them and where to verify it?

Asking if anyone's dealt with a company is far different from posting that company's phone number. If you don't know a company yourself, why would you post the number?

And, the TYPICAL question on creditboards is "who is a good lender?" "has anyone heard of this company" ... but SL forum we do not allow people to recommend specific companies.
edm
Thank you for understanding.

I only posted the number because it is on their website. But no affiliation or ownership info.

So my question is if anyone dealt with them? Also if anyone been able to find out who they are and how to get such info, such as the Federal Lender ID?

For months you have been asking questions on consolidating and back end perks. Who are your loans thru and are you even eligible to consider these other companies?? If you have a single lender or Direct Loans, you are stuck with those same lenders. The rules for consolidation and lenders tightened up March 31st giving borrowers less of a choice.
edm
Thank you. Trying to help someone who is planning to consolidate. It seems difficult becuse it is hard to find factual info on consolidators.
They do not have problem with single lender rule, they never consolidated before, and they are interested in more than just back end perks. They are interested in ongoing incentives also.
Since it seems that you were very involved with business: how do you get info on their Federal Lender ID # and other info ?

I have no clue on the federal ID lender numbers. Even with the number, you would probably not be privy to information associated with it anyhow.

There are so many new consolidating lenders. They offer perks that are in some cases difficult to achieve. I have also heard thru the grapevine that some of these lenders are also selling off their portfolios to Sallie Mae. Because of the goverment guarantee, they are under no obligation to offer any ongoing perks..once the loan has funded they get paid no matter what.

With the June 30th deadline for lower rates fast approaching, your friend needs to hurry up and get his app in.

Difficult to get info: but it is a number the Education Department issues to :

1-lenders.
2-trustees,
3-student loan service companies.
