INFORMATION DIRECTLY FROM CREDIT REPORT

US DEPT OF ED/FISL/CHI

Date Opened: 10/1997
Reported Since: 8/2001
Date of Status: 8/2001
Last Reported: 3/2006

If the student loan falls off the only negative entry on credit report will be BK - I guess that would be a good thing (or maybe not)

1) When are student loans "legally" not supposed to show anymore (side note - listed in default - I just made my first rehab payment)?

2) Can at the Dept. of Ed list as long as they are in default status (Stafford Loans)?

3) Can the Dept of Ed. RE-AGE and continue to list after I complete rehab?

4) Does anyone know how much your credit score goes up after a default loan "clears"?

Sorry for all of the questions but thanks in advance for your responses.

You said you made your first re-hab payment? Chances are it won't drop off until you're finished rehab.

SL's have a way of sticking when they're not taken care of, until they're taken care of....
