I talked to financial aid about my award and I was awarded a Pell for $2800($1400 each semester). Tuition for full time is $976 per semester + $119.50 for other fees. I asked about what kind of student loans were on the award and she said there weren't any and asked if I wanted an application to fill out. Has this happened to anyone else? When I attended school previously I'm pretty sure the grants and loans all came on the award letter and there was no other application to fill out.

Is this a community college?? AA degree? It is possible you have used us up your grade level allocation of loans.

You have to request student loans separately, most often after you get your Pell grant award. I have never received loans without first getting information on a Pell. She was totally right.

Not at my school; Pell first THEN Student Loans. You couldn't even request SLs until you had your letter in hand for the Pell grant status.

what kind of info does the loan app ask for? I'm looking to get as much money in the loan that I can.

Can't remember; best way to find out is go see your FA office.
