Just curious, after I complete rehab, what are the chances my fees assessed will be erased of maybe reduced? The girl I spoke with at Allied said there was a "chance" that would happen but she wasn't promising anything. My balance was $17,100 before they went into default in 2004. Now with accumulated interest and collection fees I'm up to $24,300-holy sh_t.

I know there's nothing I can do about the interest, any good news about this???

I have the same exact question and found this thread using "search" smile.gif

Someone has to know this since there are so many people going to rehab.

About the only way you could get the collection fees off is if you pay the loan off lump-sum. Otherwise, if you intend to make payments, you don't have any negotiating tools.

I thought I read before where Citygirl stated that they removed the collection fees after the rehab was completed ? She and I both have loans thru AES...maybe this is an AES thing.
