On my cr a CA has acct opened as 9/05. But the boxes for payment history begin in May 05.
so May of 05 thru jan 06 BIG FAT RED "CO" in every month. But again they weren't opened until Sept.

I have 2 of the one says assigned in Aug 05, opened in sept o5.

can anyone explain? please.
Also, does anyone have any idea how many points are subtracted from fico score every month from this, being marked every month with that big "CO"

Thanks,

they are reoirting incorrectly because a collection agency account can not be a charge off, only the OC can report as charge off. use that reasoning to dispute and see if it comes off

as for why they do it, just to damage credit, the effects on FICO would vary based upon each person's individual report. A thick file with loads of good accts would see very little change most likely. but a thin file or very few accounts would prob see a big drop. as the acct gets older the score is affected less and less

OK... I called the darling people at EX today. I just had to ask .."why exactly is it that you let the CA's do this?" "They DID NOT own these accounts, in the earlier months that are marked CO"

Her reply" CO, also means collection; not only charge-off" And If they didnt mark your file that way,
how else would we know when to take it off"
