The other two are smaller and very past due. We are paying off the entire balance of those this week. My question is, there are $675 of late fees included in the balance of those. Is there any way to negotiate some of the late fees off? When he called Sallie Mae to get his 10 day payoff amount the guy told him that Sallie Mae never removes late fees unless it was a mistake. Is this true? Thanks in advance for any advice or experience.
