Hi!

I'm new here as well and very excited.
There is so much to learn.

I've been doing fairly well
with rebuilding credit, but
now I need to learn
how to get rid of those
baddies lurking before
I buy a house, and also
how to get larger lines
of credit and better
credit cards. Those
rebuilder credit
card limits are insufficient
and they keep you in a tier.

We shall all have a very prosperous future!

I have been trying to build my credit. I bought a car and got two credit cards. They gave me a credit limit of 250.00 in which I was charged 200 just to obtain the card and have been adding fees monthly causing me to go over my limit and yikes you get it. I am looking forward to learning something new. Is piggybacking still around? (AU accounts)

Hello,

I joined quite awhile ago. I really feel like there are a bunch of honest people in the same situations willingly giving out good advice to help others and I read this every week. However I am far from a newbie and would like my status changed. I need to be able to PM people to get some sound private advice. Please change my status.

Hello!
I signed up awhile back but forgot about posting. Oops! rolleyes.gif I'm so glad I discovered this site and I look forward to posting more. Right now, my fiance and I are in debt up to our eyeballs. We have too many credit card bills and hospital bills. I've debated on whether or not to file for bankruptcy. I'm not sure what to do but I need to get out debt soon.

Hello everybody bye1.gif ...I'm new to this forum...heard about it from MyFico forum and decided to join up. Hope to get some valuable advice and to contribute with my experiences.

I found CB through another site while researching mortgages as I am hoping to buy a home in the near future, and have been browsing the forums for about a week now. I have been pretty impressed the discussions and feel I will learn quite a bit here. Until now I had just been monitoring my WAMU PFICO which has been hovering in the 730s, but have since used MyFICO to get reports from all three major CRAs and found some negative information. I'm now waiting on hard copies from the CRAs to examine things closer.

Hello all! Before I found this site, I figured I had no recourse on the four baddies I had on my CR. One of them dropped off this summer, and I'm beginning the steps to get the others removed thanks to the advice here. Thanks, everyone, for sharing.

Hello all, i am newbie here and just wanted to sell hi. I am trying to get my credit straight along with coming out of my hiding under the cover about my financial mis-managements. I think this board and experience will help me out big time.

Morning all and Merry Xmas / Happy Holidays!

Decided to finally get my credit report a couple of days ago (I'm 37) and found out that I don't have a FICO score (have a thin file) and do have 6 negatives showing up which I am in the process of clearing up now. Do wish that I found this site BEFORE paying off 4 out of the 6 baddies but such is life.

Am soooo looking forward to working on building my credit. For years and years I paid everything in cash thinking that credit was evil but now see that in this world you need a bit of evil to get ahead.

This is an awesome forum with soooooo much information that I don't even know where to begin!!!

Thanks again for putting up this forum.

Happy New Year to all!

Hello,

I joined to try to figure out how to clean up my credit report. I read through some of the newbie section and it appears that I have already broken many of the 'do not do this' rules. I hope it is not too late for me. I am going read until I cant see straight... my score keeps going down despite paying my bills on time. sad.gif

I will use the search function (I noticed that is heavily stressed), and I will try not to ask too manyquestions.

Thank you for having this resource!

Hi all:

For the most part I have good credit but suspect because of breaking my lease this month, it will be somewhat damaged.

Joining in advance of the event, hoping to learn ways so that this will not be as damaging.

Don't have the funds to pay the terminating lease policy.

This board is unbelievable. So much good information. Welcome to all the newbies from a fellow newbie. Enjoy the content.

I've read some good information so far.

Another newbie here. I had a couple credit hiccups in the past that I am looking to clean up. Lots of good info on this forum.

Hello, Good People.

I'm brand new like the rest. I learned about this forum from a colleague who swears by the advice here. I'm reading some of the "Newby" threads first, and I've learned there already, ie some decent cards to apply for if you have no/bad credit. My hubby and I hope to buy a used car for him soon and a house in the next 12 - 18 months.

See y'all on the boards!

Howdy all!

I just got engaged this weekend, and am seriously working on improving my credit (along with my fiancee's!).
After pulling his CR from the free annual credit report site (which i read to be a "DO NOT DO". Oops.)... I see that I have alot of work to do.

I've been steadily paying off my credit card debt through Consumer Credit Counseling and will be paid off in 2011. Any thoughts on them?? Nothing else negative on my CR.

My fiancee has almost 30 "potentially negative items" on his CR. Sigh. Lots of work ahead.

Thanks for all the info.
God bless.

cool.gif hi!! This board was recommended by people from a grocery shopping board I belong to - they raved about you guys.
I'm here looking for information on state tax bills.. out of the blue, my husband was just garnished for $$$$ related to state taxes from 17-18 years ago!! Yikes. So I hope to find help with this problem, looks like there is a lot of great advice at this place about all sorts of credit matters.

Hello All!

I first signed up here in 2006. I guess I was at a loss back then and simply gave up to quick. I felt I was not smart enough to understand credit repair. I went on living the same way financially up until late 2008 when my son was diagnosed with Autism and Asthma. Shortly after I was diagnosed with Stage I breast cancer. After leaving my docs office my eyes were wide open to what path I needed and wanted to take. I kick myself because had I tried to help myself by asking questions on the boards back in 06, I would be on track FICO and financially by now. I do not recall my user name from years ago, all I know is it feels good to be back. Good luck to all of us newbies beginning the credit journey. All my best to those who go out of their way to help educate and support others on the boards. smile.gif

Hello everyone I have been registered for awhile but I am seriously getting serious about my credit and this board and I am going to force myself to take advantage of the infomation here and out there and hopefully share a success story in a few months.

I was just denied an apartment that I could afford between a combination of; unauthorized accounts, accounts that I paid but that are still showing up as unpaid ,and a few that I need to dispute. I feel like my report and my life is a mess...such a self-esteem damager...anyone have some suggestions as to how/where I can start since ther is so much info?

Although you've been a member a while now, sounds like you might want to start at the beginning - in the newbies section. Look for psychdoc's seminars.

Hello All!

My name is Amber, mom of 2 lifetime nursing student tongue.gif

I LOVE this forum, I signed up because a friend told me you guys basically saved her booty and now she and her husband have clean credit and a home .. all the usual wants I guess. Well my needs are a bit more simple... I have a disease called Lupus so I have A LOT of medical debt.. however not the usual apparently I had Co-pays that I was not aware of ( was on my moms plan even over 18 but a student). My mom nor myself never received these bills for the copays and these are starting back from 2002!!!

I have over 20 entries just from that company on my report as well as a some fraudulent things due to a lovely ex husband. The thing is I was clueless and had never pulled a report before, thought all was well since I have GREAT revolving accounts... until last week when I got notices they were all lowering my credit limits - so I am in a literal panic about fixing this ASAP.I am getting married in Feb 2010 and we were going to get a loan .

I don't know where to post the breakdown of my report, I am like I said in a panic about getting this fixed and clear ASAP!! I', really scareed that my future is ruined for quite some time now and don't know where to begin- every time I try and search I get so overwhelmed ( I take a lot of meds for my disease that clouds my head - I need some detailed help broken down into dummy talk). Can someone point me in the right direction to begin so I wont feel like giving up tongue.gif
miro2
AmberDi-

I totally understand on the medical. If you stick around here you can get through it. This is my 2nd attempt as the first time I felt overwhelmed and to scared to ask questions. I have nothing more to lose now, so here I am reading, reading, reading....and knowing it will get better smile.gif

As far as being on meds and what they can do...I also hear you loud and clear. I can only share what I am doing to help myself begin again. Read the newbies area. It will sink in after a while...trust me. Coming off chemo it only took me about 20 times reading some topics...before the light bulb came on tongue.gif

I try to stick to Why Chat, psychdoc's seminars, breeze, LKH, SassyinAZ, radi8, four20nik, and so many others on here. Those who post often helping others. I feel like a stalker as I read everything I can find from certain posters relating to my personal situation. From what you posted it sounds like your debts are older.

The only advice I feel okay giving( at this point) is advising finding the SOL for your state. Read psychdoc's seminars as he tells you what to do step by step. Go on from there. Ask for clarification after you have looked up info you need.

Good luck to ya!

breeze
Welcome - good advice, miro2!! Just keep showing up here, and read read read. It takes a while, but your life will never be the same, once you get it.

I really can't thank you guys enough for this place and being so understanding.

I spent my entire day in the ER yesterday and found out I am in Acute on Chronic Renal failure.. so it may take me a really long time to get this lol.

I keep reading but the meds seem to make it POOF right out of my brain before I can absorb it. Is there anywhere to post an edited version (name/ss/addy removed) of my CR and see if there are any simple things that can be pointed out? I want to send out letters asking wtf a lot of it even is but I'm afraid that will give them cause to start hounding me.. there is also this thing where the same thing appears twice and Midland Credit wont provide me with proof of any contracts ( ex husbands gf signed up at a mall kiosk and used my info).

I apologize I know this is the wrong section to vent and ask these questions, my brain is like a marshmellow right now tongue.gif

you guys rock, I am really praying I can comprehend enough to get this started in the right direction <3

Don't try to tackle it all at once, it will overwhelm you. Take the oldest derogatory, post the details, but change the account numbers and amounts so that they are not exact - like round off the amount, put 99999 in for account number. Post all the dates, and the state where you reside.

Post this in the main "credit" forum so lots of people will see it. You will get some suggestions about what to do to correct it, and what not to do, which is just as important.

All of you who have medical issues making it difficult to concentrate or track should do it this way at first. Get a couple of successes under your belt, and you will be on your way.

Just take one thing at a time, easy does it. smile.gif

Depending on what it is, we may move it, but don't think you did something wrong. We do it all the time, so you get the right information.
drastik
A ton of info to read up on guys. You've done a great job with all of this. Thanx
