Hello everyone I am relatively new to the forum. I been in school for a little over year now and I have accumulated a little over 13,000 in debt. Do I need to wait until I finished school or can I have them consolidated now.

Is it a good Idea to consolidate these loans with a private bank since these are stafford subsidized/unsubsidized loans.

You CAN consolidate in school; the question is why would you do it at this point? I'm guessing you're not nearly finished with your education?

If all of the loans are held by the same lender, then you'd be able to consolidate only with the lender who holds the loans, or perhaps Direct Loans. But I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish by consolidating right now. If you could explain that, we might be able to give you better advice.
