When I got my CR via anualcreditreport.com my transunion showed that the last time I was late on my student loan was Jan 03. Last 48 Months is 2 60 days and 5 90 days.

Experian didnt mention any lates? Actually there was no payment history for any of the accounts. Not sure if I got the full report or not?

Equifax shows Pays or paid as agreed since July of 99 (When the account was opened).

Now I got the 3 CR thru Privacyguard and there are no lates for TU or EQ, and EX shows as not reporting anything except last month and its OK? hmmm.

So I got my 3 CR with Truecredit and TU reports all OK's, Experian didnt report anything untill last month and it was an OK, and equifax hasnt reported anything.

This is extremely confusing. Should I send out this goodwill letter I have ready? I am going for a home loan soon, how will this impact the process?

Any advice would be great. Thank You.

Well, there's really a bigger question here:

Are either of these trade lines accurate? You imply that they are by suggesting that you're interested in using a goodwill letter.

If you really were late and point out that one report ISN'T reporting lates, you risk having baddies on another credit report (or two). If you weren't late, then I'd work directly with the credit reporting agencies first.

If the last time you were late was three years ago, there probably isn't a big hit to your score. Most of the time, your biggest impact on score is a late within the last two years.
