On my TU report one negative line (defaulted US Dept of Ed loan) includes the sentence "Estimated date this item will be removed 9/2006." Is this sentence true - will this item be removed in September? Or, should I check with US Dept. of Ed?

Any info is appreciated.

The USDOE has nothing to do with that; if the report says it will be removed around 9/06, then it will be.

You should try to dispute it as obsolete; some have had success getting things removed this close to the date it will fall off anyway.

Thanks TXQuiltGirl!

Sorry for the topic change, but I heard that Sallie Mae only deals with/supplies information to Equifax - is this correct?

I do not believe this is correct.

My consolidation loan is now with SM and they are showing up on all three of my reports.

Hope this helps!
