Here we will explain the similarities and differences in FFELP and Direct Stafford Loans, as well as other older types of Federal Student Loans. What is the difference between subsidized and unsubsidized loans and how do you qualify for each. How it the interest rate calculated. What is default and what can you do to avoid it.
We will also look at consolidation, why should you consolidate and how can you figure what your interest rate will be. What loans will qualify for consolidation and which will not.
We will also provide links to several highly informative sites. Some will deal with consolidation, while others will provide the same information that Servicers use. There are calculators that will allow you to figure what types of payments you can expect to make, and we will show you where to find them. How much do I owe and to whom?
