Okay,
So I sent off the Hippa letter to the OC with USPS Money Order and have never had any contact with the CA. It has been about 45 days and I have not checked to see if the money order has been cashed yet, but when I was checking my Truecredit today it showed the collection agency updated the payment that I strictly made to the OC. The payment due to the OC was $62 which is what i paid and the CA updated showing $62 paid and $12 still due...which is their interest portion. Okay, so the next step?
Also, on a different medical bill to a different OC I sent the hippa letter and the billing department contacted me back saying No Hippa violations had been made and to discuss my situation with the legal department of the CA...which I won't be doing. I'm pretty sure they didn't cash the check. However I will check this week. Any advice on the next step when they don't cash your check and just tell you to deal with the CA?
