Full Version: Question about how to handle
CreditBoards > Financing > Student Loans

I am helping a friend, trying to figure the best way to go about this.

She has 4 separate loans from OC on reports.

4 from Nelnet, showing closed and transferred

2 from Greater East Texas Servicing

Should we DV the 2 CA's. When she talked to OC(TX Guaranteed Student) to try to make payments to them/rehab, they referred her to CA.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brandy

This is exactly how student loans in default report. It is normal and legal. If you DV the CA, they will order the prom note from TX Guaranteed....they will verify.

She needs to talk to the CA and set up payments towards rebab. Once she completes the 12 on time payments, the rehab will be completed and the negative tradelines from TX will be removed. The NELNET lines, however will not be changed.

Can you have the old entries from nelnet and other lenders removed somehow, if they have already been transfered to someone else? My question is how can you have the defaulted entries removed, if you have already completed the rehabilitation program???

Even with rehab, there is no legal requirement for the OC to remove their negative tradeline. You could try a goodwill letter.

I got several 120+ lates off my Nelnet accounts simply by asking the CRA to remove... I had a convincing argument but no documentation, but fortunately they found my arguments plausible enough I guess.

More likely, the CRA did not get a reply from Nelnet in time and they were deleted.
