I have been searching for a private student loan consolidator for months now. However, every lender seems to have ridiculous rates based on credit, which isn't that great from someone of my status. Has anybody consolidated their private student loans? If so, can you provide me some insight?

Every company that consolidates private student loans will base that consolidation on your credit. Private student loans have none of the protections or guarantees that federal student loans have, hence lenders will treat them like any other loan. If you have credit issues, I think that you are going to have a problem finding a lender that will do a private student loan consolidation.

I know I will. I do have a co-signor that is willing to apply. I was just wondering if anybody has a current private consolidation loan and what would be my best options because from what I've learned...origination fees and rates are ridiculous.
