Full Version: Getting runaround from CA?

I had a $150 medical bill that was sent to collections in 2001 unbeknownst to me until I checked my credit report. It had been paid by my insurance company 2 months after service (back in March 2000--so it shouldn't have been sent to collections to begin with). I got the letter from my insurance co. stating where the money came from (it was applied toward a credit balance forward) and that it had been paid in full, and faxed it to the CA.

It's been almost 3 weeks now that I've sent that, and I keep calling them every week to see if my account's been updated, but it hasn't yet. They keep saying that the doctor's group still hasn't gotten back to them yet on this.

How much longer do I wait? Can I send out dipsutes with the letter from the insurane co to the CRA, or should I wait until the CA does clear this up (they still say that it may still be on my credit report even after it's cleared up)?

Please help!

Opt out, send the medical dispute letter to the CRA.MEDICAL DISPUTE

You dispute medical accounts this way:

Dear CRA,
My name is xxxxx xxxxxx , my SS # is xxx xx xxxx.
I am sending this dispute certified mail # xxxx to make sure you receive it.
I have no knowledge or records of account # xxxxx on my report # xxxxx. Please advise me as to the name and address of the medical provider, the date of service, to whom the service was provided, and what it was for. If you can get this information, I also would need the name of the person providing this data, and the manner in which it was provided.
Very truly yours,

xxxxxx
Make sure you HAND ADDRESS the envelope, use personalized stationery and purple or teal font, ( preferably itallic).

DO NOT send it RR
