Full Version: Question about valid signed Visa

Being an educated CBer, I understand that it is a violation of the Visa merchant agreement for merchants and cashiers to ask for ID in order to use a validly signed Visa card. I understand that the official procedure for the merchant and cashier to follow if they suspect fraud is to make a "Code 10" call to their merchant bank representative.

Since I'm starting to get annoyed by ID requests, should I invite the next merchant agreement violating cashier that asks for ID to make a "Code 10" call since they apparently suspect fraud? Would the merchant bank just verify that indeed I am using a valid Visa card and to tell the cashier to stop bugging customer for ID?

question to all of you... Ok you sign your card... you loose your wallet or worse, stolen-crime..... You didn't have time to report.......... However your card is signed.... sooooo the merchant must accept the card reguardless.. right.... a woman can have the name George.

I don't understand the drama associated with ID... It is actually benefical.

It may be a pain in the arse but it could save you. There are many people who could do damage with account numbers and printing things.. We had a ring raided a year ago with major stuff.... Could've made something and signed the back.....

Just think about it...

I thought the cc's with pics were the ones to complain about (with showing ID)
But I guess that "could" be fraud also.....
