I just pulled a copy of my credit report (I'm a newbie). I consolidated all my student loans into one, but the ones that were "consolidated" still show up individually as more than 120 days past due. Do I write to the credit company and tell them they've been consolidated? How do I handle this? Thanks.
Legally these can still be reported. It will drop off with time. This is standard in student loan reporting. You can dispute them but most times they come back as verified that you were at some point 120 days past due. You can also try a goodwill letter to the creditor. Some have had luck...others not.
