So, I have applied for grad. student loans knowing that I have a CS of over 700 and have been rejected. School starts in about 1.5 weeks. I have no willing co-signer. What can I do?

Have you filled out a FAFSA?
That is the only way to get Federal loans, which require no credit check anyway. Most people are able to get at least get 18,500 in Stafford loans.
Fill it out here:

Yes - I have done all the FAFSA stuff. I need money for the gap between tuition etc. and federal loans. Sadly, my cosigner bailed on me at the last minute. I tried to qualify on my own. I was rejected by the two major companies that my school suggests working with (borrowing from) for gap loans. I inquired and the Co.s said that a late credit card payment 4.5 years ago and my income (which is zero owing to the fact that I am in my second year of grad. school) is too high. Together, it seems I am not going back to school without a seriously amazing plan.

Have you tried Sallie Mae?
I recall reading in here that they normally approve without a co-signer if you are above 680. You might try reading some old posts to try to find the more lenient lenders.
