I have a med collections for an out-of-state hospital. I had already made monthly payment arrangments with them before CB, to be continued until 12-2006. I really need to do something about that!

Here's the deal. October 2002, we were evacuated for hurricane Lili and went over to our neighboring state. Lili hit LA on October 3, 2002 and we left for home on October 4(maybe the 5th), 2002. About an hour into our drive, I needed ambulance service to a hospital. I left the hospital AMA, I was better(gallbladder attack) and I was never seen by anyone after sitting there for quite awhile.
I received a bill from the ambulance service a few times and wrote them a letter explaining our situation and never heard from them again. I never received a hospital bill.

This collection account is not even from the hospital where I was brought. The BIG thing I just noticed as I looked very closely at my CR is the date they listed the account open is October 1, 2002. I sure hope this means something good.

Does ANYONE knows what the best action would be in this situation?

Thanks,
Sis

I had a similar situtation before. A dr was claiming to have seen my son in ER and we weren't even in the state on the day in question. I sent them a letter certified (way back in '97) telling them unless they could prove the billing was accurate, then I was not paying. Even clearly stated that we were not even in the state on that date and that I had proof. Also told them if I had this fake bill put on my credit, I would file complaints. Now my son was seen in the ER, on a date prior to that date, but he was seen by a woman and it was a male dr billing us, plus he had medicaid due to our low income. Never heard from them again.
