Hi, Does anybody know who EDFUND is? I just hung up with the rudest collector ever. I know they are doing their job but that was unbelievable.

They were calling for joe blow H. We have the same last name but no relation to us. THen I told them to basically stop calling here and leave us alone.

See, they use this automated dialer that calls on a Friday night and the office is already closed so you have to wait till Monday to contact them. I did thinking I would give a nice phone call to say wrong number.

She basically was blowing me off saying I'll put you in the system and we'll leave you alone. I told them that I had already done it and you guys are still bothering us. So I told her also to knock off her attitude and stop getting ugly. Boy that pissed her off and we started yelling at each other. (Now I'm laughing while I type this becuase it is so stupid) I asked for her mgr and she says that there isn't one so I basically stated no wonder they are so incompetent. At this point she basically said I'll have a mgr call you later because you are so rude. WTF!!!!

Who are these clowns? I probably shouldn't have lost my cool but these idiots have the worst system. They call you and say you have an outstanding loan and you need to call us on Monday and deal with this. I have called twice to tell them wrong contact and they still call.

Any suggestions to get them to stop?

FYI: I have never had a student loan-I didn't know if this was relevant to the story but felt I should throw it in. TIA, Susan

LOL.

Sounds like an excellent opportunity to use my "purple blankie" speech. laugh.gif

Why don't you just do a search on them and send them a letter stating that the person they are looking for doesn't live at this address and you insist the harassing phone calls stop immediately.

In fact, here ya go.

I just did a zaba search on the person they are looking for, She does live in San Antonio but the interesting thing is, she has like 6 different phone numbers and two different addresses. I wonder if she is avoiding collections and gave out our phone number or if they just tried anybody with the same last name.

I even called EDFUND to tell them to stop calling us and I offered them her numbers. They weren't interested in that and just said "we're taking your name off of our system and you will not be called anymore."

That's what they said 2 months ago.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to actually get one of those sticky squares that go on an envelope...a stamp. I haven't mailed a letter in ages. I love billpay. I literally don't know if I have a stamp in the house. Thanks for your help. Susan

Edfund is CSAC, the California Student Aid Commission. They were one of my biggest clients. Make one call back asking for a qualified manager. Not a collector. They are usually very good about this sort of thing. Demand that they send you a letter stating that they will never call you again!!
