OK, perhaps Lynn or somebody here can help me out.
I've got a consol loan from Direct Loans dating back to 2000. Right around end of 2002, I got divorced fell a little bit behind (maybe 30 to 60 days) but applied for and received a hardship forbearance that was retroactive to the last due date.
Now, magically, 3 years later, I get a 60 day and a 90 day late popping up on my EX and EQ credit reports (I'm sure TU is to follow).
What gives here?

Note to add that I think I can get removed from EQ and EX easily enough due to other, CRA-related reasons, however I don't want this to keep popping up every couple years or something....
Also, I am currently attending school full time as well, and my in-school deferment was recently reapplied for and received. I wonder if this has to do with the "update"?

I'm sure that has a lot to do with the lates popping up - the deferrment, that is. I would just dispute it with the CRAs and see if that takes care of it. If not, a goodwill letter never hurt anyone.
Good luck!

I have a similar situation...
I did a retro forebearance...EX shows pays never late, EQ and TU show TONS of lates from the forebearance period.
I decided to experiment with TU and dispute as never late. As a result, they updated the lates on EQ and TU AND added them to EX. They also updated the status to "Current - was 180 days late".
Yesterday, they deleted from EX altogether and then added a positive TL stating open - never late.
I sent in the payment for the rest of the balance yesterday. I'm going to watch and see what kind of havoc their updates do to my reports before proceeding with a good will.
The updates are darn screwy...glad to have EX fixed for the time being though...

I have an in-school deferment right now...
My DL was showing never late on all three. But just the other week I had a 60 and a 90 pop on from back when I got me first forbearance.
I swear DL has the most F'ed up reporting methods. Luckily I have EX with a reinsertion violation on it...
