I've have been here for a little while, working on my credit some, but picking up a lot of information mostly. I want to share my recent experience and give credit to all the great F&I guys on here.
I've got two kids and an ex-wife, when we split I had a 2000 Accord EX sedan that I loved. But, It was totaled a few months later, so I bought a single cab silverado. Boy, was that a mistake. It has been a great truck but way too small for me and two little ones. I fell in love with the Ford Explorer but never thought I could ever get one. About a month ago, I decided to throw caution to the wind and start looking. Here in North Texas, there were some great deals on low mileage, XLTs with the third row, but all of them were sold. I had seen an Eddie Bauer listed with one of the highline dealers and decided to check it out. It was priced very well as it was their ad truck but I knew I would never get financing under 20% as I have two active collections, a judgement and late 120 on child support. Fast forward to yesterday.
I arrived, the car-salesman never could tell me the interest rate, he was very busy. I took the truck to my brother so he could check it out, looked great. Went back to the dealership, waited another hour or so for finance, when I finally got in there, he gave me my warranty options, I decided on Gap only as the extendeds were overpriced, signed the contracts, and was out in about 7 minutes.
