I was supposed to start paying back 40K last June. I consolidated and then put them into forbearance because I could not afford to pay. Now its almost June again and I still can afford to pay.
I'm way in debt and trying to work out of it. My husband lost his job so we only had my pitiful check for 6 months. He started working about 2 months ago, but he only makes under 7.00/hour.
Can I forbear again? Anything I can do?

I don't know the answer to your question, but NOW is the time to contact your lender and find out what you can do. Do not wait! They will have options for you, so you need to follow through ASAP.
Good luck!

Yes, once you consolidate you are eligible for additional forbearance relief. Contact your lender or check their website. You can usually complete the docs on the Internet.

Now are you in "forebearance" or "deferment"?? There is a major difference. Generally during periods of deferment on sub loans the interest does not acrue. However in "forebearance" it does accrue.
You are eligible for up to 3 years economic hardship/unemployment deferement.
