If I make patments on my SL while it is still in the deferment period, does this do anything to my credit score? Anyone know?

Thanks... dntknw.gif

I have been making payments since November on the interest of my Unsubsidized portion ( Last year I accepted the full subsidized offer plus some unsubsidized with an option of paying interest).

Well it does not show on my credit as paying. And I also dont know how it works but the interest is somehow around $29 a month on a $2000 loan at 2.77%. I have no idea how $600 a year is only 2.77% interest.

On my CRAs it shows an original amount of $2000 with a current balance of $2029 ( since just pyaing the interest the balance is always higher than the principle). And it says " student loan not in repayment."

So i see no way this helps credit. It does, or should help keep extra balances from accumulating.

Yeah, I will keep making payments on it if for no other reason than just to alleviate the $100k I will be responsible for once grad school is over with...
