I have a student loan from 1986. It was originally $2,300 and is now up to $5,000. The DOE's CA sent me a letter saying they were going to garnish my wages so I sent in the financial waiver form and it was granted. So now that they can't garnish my wages, I figured I would call in and see what kind of arrangements I can get. I can't afford much (obviously) - maybe $50.00 a month. Does anyone know if they would be willing to accept that and will I be able to get any of the interest and penalties taken off.
Thanks

Heather
You can probably qualify for rehab with the $50 pay. However only the penalties are taken off at time of rehab, not the interest.
