Yeah, I paid mine off and it's still on my credit report. And Equifax is being stubborn and won't even mark it as paid. The other two have.

Need Advice, Should I Pay My Medical Bills?
punchxcore replied to Silca's topic in Medical Billing & Medical Collections
I would definitely do Why Chat's HIPPA process and try to get them deleted. I had 3 medical accounts on EX, 1 on TU, 1 on EQ and I got all of those deleted with the initial dispute letter. So I spent what.. under $10 and got out of having to pay around $900. It was pretty worth it to me. Not to mention, those were newer, in the last year.. so I am sure it will raise my FICO score. -

So I got 3 medical accounts deleted from EX, 1 from EQ and 1 from TU. It was so easy. Like stealing candy from a baby. Now I'm just working on getting a cellular CA deleted and a judgement off of EQ and EX (TU deleted). After that all I'll have left is a paid tax lien, one CO and my repo. -
But you can't dispute it as obsolete unless it's close to falling off, right? My tax lien was filed October 2008 and was released in September 2009.

I would go ahead and DV the CA. it's never too late to do that. I would recommend wait 60 days or so before disputing with the CRA again. Is this debt within SOL for your state? I was reading another thread and someone said SOL for cell phone service is two years, unless I read wrong. So it would be out of SOL.

Haha, good luck with getting them removed. They are very hard. I recently satisfied my state tax lien, and I even sent documentation to each CRA stating that my lien had been satisfied and released. They updated the status as being paid. Public records generally stay on for 7 years.

Well, all 3 of my medical CA have been deleted from EX. So I'm still waiting on TU and EQ to see what they're going to do. I haven't gotten a letter from EQ about my status, though they did receive it. I got a letter from TU yesterday saying that my investigation period was increased to 45 days because of recent information they received (I dispute a judgement a week or so after that). So I think around middle of November, I should hear from TU. I sent my dispute to EQ and not CSC (that's who sent me my CR), so I'm wondering if I need to send a dispute to CSC or if I should wait the dispute period out and see if EQ sends me anything. I only have one CA on EQ and one on TU (another collection is for Sprint; so I have two total). Thoughts? -
So I jumped the gun before with EX and tried to dispute a CA with them online for Sprint PCS. It appeared online today as verified, like 3 days before the investigation was supposed to be over. My question is, since I did it online, should I send a letter to the CRA again and start the process over, or should I just go ahead and send a letter to the CA it's reporting with? I haven't heard back from TU about this CA yet. If I need to start the process all over, what letter should I send to the CRA? I can't seem to find the one I had used before when I sent it to TU, since I switched to a different computer recently. And if I start by sending the letter to the CA that is reporting it, is http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcaval.html the one I want to send?

No response from 1st HIPPA letter?

I have 2 collections that are nearing the 45 days for investigation, since I got impatient and decided to dispute them online. Though the two I disputed CM were deleted like within days of them receiving my letter. I have 6 days left for the ones I did online, since the letter I got from EX says projected completion date is October 25th. But it still says its being investigated. I'm wondering how common is it for them to verify such debts if it's been this long? I'm really hoping they can just be deleted if it's taking THIS long, and the CA just might be stalling and won't be able to furnish the information the CRA's need. Experian has been pretty quick to send me the results of my disputes, but I have yet to receive nada from the others, though it's only been about two weeks. -
Not true. I got a letter from Experian saying they couldn't delete my old address cause it was tied to another account. So I was told by someone on here to call and see if I could get it removed. First I called and got the automated line and it said it would be removed. I wasn't sure if that would work, so I disputed it online. Lo and behold, a few days later it was gone. Also, with SOL it's been said that you can dispute items that are still in SOL if you can handle being sued and paying that amount owed. But if they're over $1,000 or more and you don't see yourself being able to pay it, then it'd be best to leave it alone. I disputed all of mine cause my highest debt is $531, so if I were to be "sued", then I would just pay two partial payments and be good.

I started paying this law firm $50/month. They were suing me for Chase. They were going to garnish my wages, so I decided to set that up instead. My first notice I got from the courts stated that my balance due plus court costs, interest was $1,287.26 and now my balance is $1,255.19. I've paid $50 so it should had gone down but I'm pretty sure they are still charging me interest. Is there any way to put a stop on that so I am only paying on the balance I owe? I feel like it's pointless to pay on it if I'm gonna keep getting charged interest still. I have to appear in court on December 17th. Can I request then that all interest stop so I can make the payments? Do I contact the law firm specifically? I'm not sure how it works.
