Sorry if this has been discussed before...I have recently finished college, trying to fix my credit..but am now so confused on how to begin... My credit report does not include a "date of last activity", only a date that the account was opened (8/2004) and a "date reported" (8/2/09)...what do these dates mean with regards to SOL? And this account is still listed under the Original creditor, should I attempt to pay them? I think I made a big mistake that I don't want to make again. I had a settlement offer from Afni to settle a 5 year old Cingular acct. I sent them the payment, thinking I was doing the right thing...(I had not discovered this board at that point). Now I am afraid that they will keep it on my credit report or continue to try and collect more money from me! Will a PFD letter help in this situation?I have a "Paid in full/settled" letter from them, but there is no mention of deletion.... Sorry this is long, I just need to get on the right track with all this! Thanks...
