I appreciate the help with all of this guys. Just wanted to give an update, I am still fighting this. I have requested verification of this debt from Equifax in May. They verified again. I have contacted the collection agency a few more times, and even contacted the hospital again. They faxed me copies of the bill and said I have a zero balance and that the collection agency should have stopped collection activity in March. I am at a stand still with this issue and don't know what else to do. I have even contacted a couple lawyers and they just say this will cost me more then it is worth. Thanks for all the help so far guys!

They are still reporting the same balance as before.

Yes, the hospital turned it over. The reply from the BBB is as follows: Consumer's Original Complaint : I have received a copy of a bill from this company for services in a hospital that I have never received. I have a copy from the hospital. I have a copy of all services rendered from the hospital in question, I also have been provided a copy of a bill from First Source with a list of services that I did not receive. This bill is addressed from the hospital itself, which even shows what my insurance paid on. Yet the two items both "from" the hospital do not match. I know for a fact what was done testing wise at the hospital and the bill does not match that. Consumer's Desired Resolution: Removal of the collection from the 3 major credit bureaus. Hello all, I had a medical collection show up on my credit report last year for a hospital bill. The bill was covered by my insurance, but I still received a collection notice from First Source for $812. After requesting verification on the debt, I was sent a copy of a bill with what they said was the procedures I had performed. This bill did not match the medical records I received from the hospital. After comparing the two, I see that they billed my insurance for procedures that I did not have performed. After my insurance paid for more than what I had done, they then billed me for an additional $812. I contacted both the hospital and the collection agency (I also CC the states attorney, and the BBB) with what was going on. I finally got a response a month and a half later from the BBB saying they were removing this from my reports. I check my reports everyday and I know this was removed before I received this response from the BBB. The problem is that they re added this to my EQ report. I just tried to call them, and spoke with a lady who wanted me to give her my social security number. I refused, so she didn't want to talk to me about my account. I finally verified enough information about myself and she told me she would transfer me to someone who could help me. After being on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that I need to fax in the information to them showing that they were supposed to remove it, and that they re added it to my report because "we don't re add information". She also said that it could take 90 days to be removed from my report. I told her that I didn't want to fax anything, and asked if her information showed that it was being reported. All she would say to me is that if we said we were going to remove it we did. After much arguing she finally told me to call another number. I did and was told that I wasn't verifying my information and that I needed to speak to a supervisor(which I already did) and that I was given very clear information on what I need to do. I guess I don't know where to go from here. Do I have a leg to stand on here? I am so ticked at this point I want them to know they are screwing with the wrong person.

I also had one added to my account, I sent a letter to them telling them to remove it. They did, however only for 4 days. Now it is back, any idea what I should do now?

according to the mortgage guy middle fico is 613. My husband has about $6050 credit cards with about 60% usage. Then 1 car loan that he got in nov. it has about 2000 paid down on it. He has 1 collection that was filed last year, from gmac for 2600.

My husband and I are in a lease purchase option on our current home. We have been here a year aug. 1 in our contract it says we can go a second year if needed before purchase. In the last year I have cleaned up our reports to almost perfect, and have even begun to build us a little credit. With that being said, our middle scores are 610 him, and 605 me. What can we do to get to 620? Our landlord is getting kinda pushy about wanting us to close because he is getting a divorce. We would obviously prefer to have a mortgage to be paying on then just paying rent. Any suggestions? Whats an easy way to get about a 15-20 point score jump? Thanks!

For instance I received a collection from a ca for an electric bill for and electric at a home I have never lived at or owned. When I requested them to verify the debt they sent me a itemized statement. But thats it, I then sent them another dv and I just received a letter back saying "itemized statements were sent to you on 9/21/09. we are not required under the fair debt collection act to do anything further." I am not sure what to do at this point. TI A

NBA Player Antoine Walker Pursued By Creditors

The sad thing is, he probably won't get hit with any of this, I am sure he will do probation. If he was doing a check kiting as the article suggests, in this amount it should go federal. But it won't because of his status. The cold sad truth is if you are famous and have/had the money the law doesn't pertain to you. -
so how do I find out if a company is liscensed in my state?
