I can confirm situation #2. Dh had a lien that was settled by OIC a few years ago, and was able to get it withdrawn. I just filled out the form and mailed it with a letter and a copy of the release.

Golden 1 asks for 1.5 times the amount of the limit you want and does not do a credit pull. Mine is reporting as a visa classic. It does not graduate. You are better off with one of the credit unions suggested in my opinion.

Are you talking about the trouble with the credit limits, or Macy's didn't report at all for you?

How many inquiries did you have? Which report did they pull?

In my experience, I was able to pay off the charged-off amount and a new account was opened. The limit was the same as the amount charged off. My credit was also pulled for the new account. This was in December 2008/January 2009. I read on another board that someone was told that they don't rehab anymore. Here's the number I called: 1-800-543-9617 (Recovery Services). You've got nothing to lose by calling and asking. Good Luck!
