  1. In June of this year my husband fell at work walking from one building to another and hurt his ankle. He followed company procedure, filed the paperwork required with his employer, and went to the doctor requested. He has been receiving bills from the incident with requests for him to pay. He has spoken several times with his employers workmans comp liason and he keeps telling my husband that it has been taken care of. He just received another bill and spoke to someone in the billing department at the hospital. They said it hasn't been paid and will shortly be reported on hubby's CR as a collection account. Hubby explained that it was a workmans comp issue. Can they do this? How can they report it on his CR if he isn't responsible for the debt? What do we need to do to resolve this before it gets reported? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
  2. I recently applied for a loan with my bank. I was turned down because of 1 active collection. I am a UK citizen living in the US. I had a CC account that was opened in the UK while I was living there for which I was unsucessfully sued here in the US.....Arrow sued, I fought back, they (Arrow) asked for it to be dismissed prior to going to trial. It was dismissed w/prejudice. They have since sold it on to another CA who are listing it on my CRs with their own account number, an amount that is $4000+ less than the amount I was sued for, and listing the OC as Arrow Global. I was not sued by Arrow Global. They have been calling me at work. I asked them not to call again but to contact me through mail only. They have continued to call but not send any letters. Do I request DV, dispute with the CRAs as "not mine"? What if the CRA say it has been validated? What then?
  3. One account was from an electric company in NY where we moved out of state in 8/02. A CA had bought it at that time. When we were trying to get a mortage in 4/03 we were told we would have to pay it...whether we owed it or not. We offered a PIF for deletion, the CA agreed. When we sent them a MO for the full amount stipulating that they couldn't cash the MO without signing the deletion letter...they sent the MO back to us. We have all the paperwork, including a copy of the MO. They are now reporting on Transunion that it was placed for collection in 5/2008. How do we get this off our CR? The second is from a CA who first contacted us in 2002. The debt first went deliquent 12/01. We DV'd them in 2002 and they sent some nonsense which didn't constitute validation. They are reporting it to TU as date placed for collection 2/03. Shouldn't this have already dropped off....isn't it 6 years?? How do we get TU to take it off?
