I just received this card and it is a bit unusual. It is a Visa Signature, has the card number on the BACK, and it appears to be made of METAL. It weighs 13g where most of my cards weigh 5g and it attracts a magnet - hoping I didn't just kill the magnetic strip. Overall, a very pretty card! -LB P.S. This card has a 50K point signup bonus worth $625 off airlines/hotels or 50K Continental miles

I applied for membership on the 7th, mailed in my application and then I received a voice message today. They shredded my application because I did not qualify for membership as part of PRPS since I didn't live in Pennsylvania. Also they pulled a hard on Experian

I Recently got a Gold charge and they only pulled EX. I should have went for 2 in 1 but i didn't so we will have to garden a bit and then roll the dice. I'd expect they only pull all three if you have borderline scores. I only had Ex pulled for my Gold PR card and once again for my Blue Cash card couple months later. /I'm really starting to like Amex

I wouldn't add her yet. I think she would be better off getting a secured or unsecured credit card through a credit union on her own. Once you balances are paid down, it would make sense to add her as an AU.

I am pretty sure that balance transfers, as a rule, can only be done to another credit card. A "balance transfer" to a debit card or checking account would be considered a cash advance. So if you need to, charge everything to another card for a month or two and then transfer the balance to Navy. Also, it appears that you can transfer more than one balance using this promotional link (2.99%, 0 balance transfer fee): https://www.navyfederal.org/membership-benefits/offers-discounts/balanceTransferOffer.php Best of Luck!

The Master American Express BackDating Thread - *Obsolete info*
lungbrown replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
My card says member since '11, but at their website it states a significantly older "member since" date. Which do you suppose will show up on my credit reports? -
Update: Citi AAdvantantage - Approved! Navy FCU Auto Loan - Approved! Navy Platinum Card - Approved! Discover More - Pending American Express Premier Gold - Approved! I'm so glad I got in with Navy when I could! Their customer service is great. I'm almost hoping that Discover denies me because I will already have too many new accounts. I really didn't expect to have so many approvals. I'll keep my fingers crossed hoping no adverse action comes my way.

$5.5K! So, pretty much my mean/median CL. My previous card with them was initially only $1.6K, and after 6 months they upped it to $3.2K. I have seen that Citi tends to give only minimal initial limits, yet they will grow with you over time.

I just did a mini app spree. Results are: Citi AAdvantantage 75K miles bonus - Approved! Navy FCU Auto Loan - Pending Navy Platinum Card - Pending (should be a good interest rate) Discover More ($100 bonus)- Pending AMERICAN EXPRESS PREMIER GOLD- APPROVED!!!! (should be blacklisted with a c/o 11 years ago) . . . holy crap Amex was my white whale!!! "Congratulations Lungbrown, your application is approved! We are excited to welcome you to Card membership and all the benefits and services that come with your Card. You should receive your Card in the mail in the next 7 to 10 days. Your Card will be mailed in a white envelope displaying the American Express® Blue Box logo with a return address of Omaha, NE. To get a customized look at the exclusive benefits you can enjoy every day, come back and visit us at: http://www.americanexpress.com/newcardmember" Wow! I must be joining the ranks of Hegemony as the credit worthy as determined my American Express! I will be sure to update with any Navy FCU decisions or Amex indecisions.

The Master Equifax & TransUnion B* Bumpage Thread
lungbrown replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
This month I have done well. Despite having previously been chopped, I have used USAA+MPM+EC for almost 30 days. I managed to bump of 3 of 4 hard inquiries on Eq and have yet to be chopped this month. Typically, I am amongst the last to be chopped in a given month. Tomorrow, I will pull my three + Eq backdoor + myfico Eq + any free trial that is necessary to try to bump that last inquiry. I will be sure to let you all know how it turns out.
