Hello! I've been getting calls from what appears to be a collection agency regarding a medical debt for which i've never received a statement from the doctor's office for. I haven't yet spoken with the collection agency, and the debt is currently half way within the statute of limitations. I managed to find the EOB for this doctor's office visit which lists the amount that i'm responsible for. Here's the strange part. As of May 2016, i did see a collection agency account show up on my credit reports (and during this time they called maybe once or twice a month), but right now there isn't anything listed on my reports (these are real reports from annualcreditreport.com that i pulled last month while i was still getting calls). When i called the doctor's office to ask about what was going on, it became apparent that they had an incorrect address that i used to live at decades ago. They said that they didn't do billing at the doctor's office themselves and were unable to give me the number to their billing department due to the fact that it had already been written off. They told me I had to speak with the collection agency. Where should I proceed from here, given that nothing is showing up on my reports? I've been getting about 2-3 spoofed calls a day. The amount isn't large (it is about $150). Thank you!

TY! I don't have any recent scores, but the basics of my CR at the time of app are: ~20% UTIL, AAOA 1 year, no baddies, 3 new accounts.

I decided on a whim to apply for the Capital One Venture card (the one with no AF). I've kinda wanted one of their "excellent credit products" for a while now. I got a 3k limit. Not too bad... this means that it's my second biggest limit behind Citi. It's got a high-ish APR though, but I don't expect to be revolving any balances on it. Not too long ago I got approved for the Journey student card (with a $500 limit)... I should've applied for this one back then.... hahaha P.S. This means that I broke KONA. Back to KONA for now.

You could try for the Citi Forward after 6 months. Citi's college student card offerings IMHO are quite better than other issuers. The Chase +1 Student MC is also not a bad one to try for... this was actually my very first card back in late 2008. When applying for Citi, typically in the past they've looked for at least two tradelines with an established history of at least one year. I think this may have changed or simply isn't within the range of requirements for the student versions of their cards. I've seen credit steps mentioned here before; it is definitely something I'm interested in. Did they send you something about it with the card after you were approved, or did they send it later or did you have to call? They did send me a letter [a month later] telling me that within five months if I make at least one purchase and pay on time that they'll increase the credit limit to $750.

I can't believe that I actually thought that CapOne would give me a decent limit with this card. They didn't--I got a very typical $500 limit from them. It even comes with credit steps that'll allow the card to grow to $750. I don't know whether I want to keep the card or not. You can redeem rewards whenever you want, even right after you make a purchase and before the statement cuts. I wanted a CapOne with a decent limit because of the zero FETF. Maybe sometime in the future I'll apply for one of their "excellent credit" cards. P.S. The Journey VISA card itself looks neat, it's see-through.

I've entered amounts up to 5k-ish and it said approved. This amount alone surprises me. I've had my Zync since late December... I did enter amounts higher and it told me to call the # on the back of the card but I haven't gotten an FR yet and hopefully won't. If you try and check more than I think twice it'll say that it can't let you check again for security reasons or something like that but I don't think this one is the same as the message you'd get if you entered too high of an amount.

Goals: 1. Try and be KONA for more than 6 months. Going the whole year without new apps would be ideal. 2. Get CLIs on some of my low limit cards.
-
FAIL! I'm guessing it's because of too many new accounts...

I got approved for a Zync a few days ago. Back in January of this year I opened a Green card but closed it in March. Will the Zync be backdated to the open date and have the payment history of the Green? It says member since 2010 when I log in.

Congrats! I heard that one can build a good limit with Citi if you regularly get CLIs through the luv button. Can't wait for my first one!

Formerly $1,000 CL. It had no annual fee, but it probably wan't going to grow much, if at all. It was the "average credit" Standard Platinum card. Closed it after the one-year mark hit a few days ago.

Since last score I've opened a new card and added an INQ on EX.

Last year I applied for one of their PremierPass products and received the same denial reason. I believe it means that there aren't enough revolving credit card accounts of at least one year of age. According to what I know, they look for at least two of these accounts "credit references". Don't quote me on this for it might've changed by now. Do try a recon letter via PFB. That's planetfeedback d0t com. I've heard people have had luck with this method.

I'm in Illinois and I received the denial e-mail as well. Hope they didn't pull a hard on EX. Wasted inquiry if so...

I just got back from school and finished uploading the documents requested. I received the "2 business days application review" message. I still wasn't prompted to join the Prime Meridian Association within the application. I guess now we just wait and see...
