  1. congrat I've been thinking about this card .... I use Wells Fargo credit card for a few months already ... I wonder if I can get this card??
  2. what do you mean? Under recent legislation [that the banks convinced Congress is] for your protection, "children" under 21 years of age will generally not be able to get a credit card unless a parent accepts financial responsibility for the account. Here it is: The Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 Section by Section Summary --- Title III B PROTECTION OF YOUNG CONSUMERS Sec. 301. Extensions of credit to underage consumers. Requires that credit card issuers, when soliciting to persons under the age of 21, obtain an application that contains either: (1) the signature of a parent, guardian, other qualified individual willing to take financial responsibility for the debt; (2) information indicating an independent means of repaying any credit extended; or (3) proof that the applicant has completed a certified financial literacy or financial education course. Personally, I think the banks love this. I think they always liked to assume that Mommy and Daddy would bail out their college kids if they got into credit trouble, but this wasn't guaranteed. Now it'll be guaranteed. College kid screws up their first card and gets smacked with tons of fees because they don't know the credit ropes? Mommy and Daddy will be on the hook. -ingenue Wow, what if some people are still under 21 by that effective date? Are they just gonna take away credit cards from students who have been using it?
  3. what do you mean?
  4. this topic is cool .... keep it updated people
  5. hey what about the Citi mtvU card? anyone using it?
  6. Yes, you get points for all of your purchases. You get more points for specific purchases. No minimums or tiers. You can find out more about the Forward on citiforward.com. wow that's cool because most cards will give you cashback only after a certain amount $$$ purchases and Discover categorizes 4 different groups of 5% cashback (complicated)
