  1. Oh okay thank you very much. I think I clicked on the wrong section then. It read something about having to be a part of special organizations and stuff like that. Thank you very much!
  2. I would like to, but I don't think I qualify to join DCU.
  3. Thank you very much for reassuring me about the APR. I seriously think I've entered into a really bad deal. Today, the very day after I bought the car the check engine light turned on. I went back to speak to the guy who sold me the car and supposedly he's off for the day. So I'm going back tomorrow. Hopefully, he'll let me out of the contract. If not, how badly would a repossession effect my credit? I'm hopeful that it won't come to that, but I'm speaking worst case scenario. That being that the dealer denies me the ability to return it or at the very least exchange it for a different car. I think that I'd rather take the hit to my credit then pay for a car that will cost me more and more down the line.
  4. I don't know how to delete this thread but it just seems that I got a really bad deal. I'm going back to the dealership tomorrow in hopes that me begging will let me out of of this. Wish me luck!~ I'm going to need it.
  5. Today (seriously, like 3 hours ago.) I bought a car and I just realized that the APR they gave me is 19.217% I thought this was good because I had been so used to high APR's like this. However, the car dealer pulled my credit up and I had a score of 706. I have signed the papers and the car is currently with me. I used my old car as a trade in, and have to return to the dealer tomorrow to provide a check stub, proof of residence and the pink slip for my old car. So I want to know if when I get there is it too late for me to try and get a better APR, or is it too late since I signed the papers and the car is with me? From what I read online, the deal is not totally complete until they dealer receives the money from the finance company. But I would like to get this completely verified. Yes, I know I should have paid more attention, but I truly thought this was a good deal. It's not that that I'm asking about. I just want to know if I should try and get something better. I read people saying to see what my bank should give me, but I never thought of that and if I can still do that I will. Thanks in advance.
  6. Okay I cancelled both cards. I tried the "Luv number" that I used last time to get an increase to try and get some kind of wiggle room with the monthly fee. No budge though, she offered to credit me the $8 for the month but that's about it. Supposedly there is a freeze on all CLI's. Then she told me how greatly closing these credit cards will effect my credit. Good Times! It would probably be better for my credit if I took the money I kept giving them in fees to pay off other credit cards I actually use. But there you have it. Thanks everyone!
  7. Target Card: $200 (Opened in 2008 same as my hsbc) Macy's Card: N/A (Opened in 2009) HSBC: $300 (I have two different HSBC cards I'm also thinking of canceling this one due to the fee.) (Opened in 2009) JCPenney: $1500 (Opened in 2009) WalMart: $400 (Opened in 2010) Bank Of America AAA: $1000 (Opened in 2010) Bank Of America: $1000 (Opened in 2010) Chase Amazon: $400 (Opened in 2011) These are the ones I have. My history isn't very long. The HSBC is the one I've had for the longest next to the Target card. I guess I'll go ahead and cancel it, or maybe call the "luv number" on here and see if they can at least get rid of it. Thanks all for your help!
  8. I want to cancel my Orchard credit card. However, it's my longest running credit card but it's also the worst credit card I have. It's an $8 monthly fee and the limit is only like $300. Other then the time I have no real reason for having it. Should I just go ahead and cancel it? Or continue paying $96 a year for something I'm not even using?
  9. Hi everyone! I'm going to try and keep this as short as possible so here goes... -I have a delinquent account from when my mom opened a cell phone account with Sprint under my name. She never paid and now it's on my credit under the collection agency EOS CCA. -That account is wayyy past 7 years. I also saw on one of my credit reports that it was expected to drop off next month February. However, I know that it dropping off next month isn't exactly set in stone. It was just my wishful thinking that it would drop off. -Now I'm getting an alert from my credit monitor that a new collection is showing up on my credit report. It's EOS CCA again. Exact same collection agency, exact same address, exact same delinquent account, exact same everything. So my question is what do I do about this? And is this re-aging? Should I go ahead and send a DV even though I had sent a DV through Experian and it has come back verified? I'm not really sure what to do about this and I appreciate any help I can get. I'm used to the bad accounts just being there not them multiplying themselves. Thank you very much in advance!
  10. Hi, okay I didn't have exactly the same problem but it may work with you. I got a parking ticket on my car and when I checked my credit it appeared there. I sent in a DV and it was removed. I'm not a genius with the credit but here is what I think. It's never too late to send a DV, the 30 days is just the limit where you will be covered by FDCPA. That's why you'll see some people on here sending in DV's years after the credit line has appeared. Some are lucky to actually get it off. You also may want to have your grandmother check her credit. Because you don't want to send in your information when it's really your grandmother's name they have. Then have her send a DV if it shows up on her credit. I would also not send in a PFD right away until you've made sure you've disputed it as much as you can. If there is a chance to get out of paying for it might as well go for it. But if you go ahead and go for a PFD make sure to get it in writing that that they will take it off your credit or your grandmother's. I hope this helps. If I'm wrong someone please let me know so I won't be giving out the wrong info.
  11. Thanks a lot this has been very helpful!
  12. Estimated removal date/Account scheduled to continue on record untill... I wanted to know what these were. Are they just best guesses given on credit reports? Or do they really come off on or around the estimated time. I have a few collections that are said to come off in 2011. I'm wondering if I should just wait it out or keep fighting them. I will keep fighting if that turns out to be a "guesstimation". Has anyone had them come off when it said it would? Thanks in advance!
  13. Sorry that was an old question that wasn't answered, it's this one now.
  14. I disputed it with Experian, and I got back my results today. Experian only updated it. Now it says that it was a Collection as of Nov 2009. Even though the date opened was June 2006. I'm not really sure what to do with it now.
