Thanks, I have been reading the thread but after people started debating what credit union is better, what credit cards are better etc, etc, I kind of got lost.

Can someone help me with this question, would it be ok if I go to a local branch to join and tell them I am a member of the san diego league or would it be better to fax my membership application in? Thanks

how do they know? What if I go inside to pay for the gas? It doesn't matter how they know. It is what it is. The website says "pay at the pump purchases." I'm sure there are people that can confirm that based on their own personal experience. They probably set it up that way intentionally so no rewards are issued for anything but gasoline. ok, I just got the card and so far I've only had one $10 charge on it. I will test it out next time and buy something inside gas station and see if it gives me any points for it.

You can buy MO's at Walmart with MetaBank VGC's also. If you have a 5% gas card you'd make $19.30 on every $400. thanks good to know, I do have a Sallie Mae and a penfed rewards card that give 5 points per dollar at gas station. I picked up 10 $100 cards at gas station they still had the no fee promo although I do wish they had higher denomination.

Depends what you want to do with them.. BanCorp Bank are the ones that are only good for $49.99 per transaction at WalMart. basically I want to use them to reload my serve card at fd or cvs and then use serve to pay bill. Also my Walmart has one of those self serve pay kiosk that I wanted to try out to load serve card. Thanks for your help btw.

so I'm finally going to get some visa gift cards, so far I've met my spend limit by regular purchases that I needed to do anyhow and by doing online deposit to serve card. Question:are visa debit gift cards issued by meta bank OK to buy? there is a gas station near me selling $100 cards with waived fee right now.

If the debt is only a couple of years old, you are probably still within the SOL so best thing to do if you want it removed is to try and PFD.

hi all, I have an old serve softcard and just got an email that starting January they will start to charge a 4.95 monthly fee unless I have direct deposit set up, does anyone know if I transfer money from my bank account to serve if that counts as direct deposit? or is my only choice to do a direct deposit from my job? thanks.

Thanks I appreciate it. I had no idea until I saw the old report, they have the charge off date as 04/2012 which I guess is the date that they picked up the account.
