  1. Okay, perhaps I'll give EX a call and ask what the DOFD is since it isnt showing at all, not even on my hard copy. I did initiate an online dispute so maybe I'll wait until I hear back about that before calling and initiating another dispute. I've had a lot of luck with disputing TL's as obsolete online so hopefully this will work out as well.
  2. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the original monthly bills. I'll have to see if I can get them from the OC (HSBC). Almost every line item is incorrect on this TL and the Jack Attack dispute I did back in 2012 seemed to mess things up even more. I don't know how they updated incorrect info with even more incorrect info.
  3. I have my last remaining negative TL on my Experian report not showing a "This account is scheduled to continue on record until.." date. The only thing that it says in the spot that would normally display the remain on record date is a comment regarding a Jack Attack dispute that I attempted to do back in May of 2012. It says "this item was updated from our processing of your dispute in May 2012." The items updated from the Jack Attack dispute are baffling to me. They updated the first reported date to Aug of 2008 (which is incorrect- they advanced it by a year) however, the date opened date is Nov 2006. How can an account be opened in Nov of 2006 and the first reported date be almost 2 years later? Anyhow, this account is in fact obsolete but I'm afraid that the first reported date being moved might have messed up the 7 year clock. This account has aged off of TU and EQ by the way. Does anyone have any experience with Experian simply not showing a remain on record date or still listing an account as in dispute even though the dispute was over 2 years ago?
  4. how much does it cost per report?
  5. Forgive my noobishness but I am having the hardest time simply ordering hard copies of my credit reports. For example: TransUnion has a number listed 800-888-4213 to call to purchase a report over the phone, however when I call it, the automated messaging gives me no option to simply purchase a report. Same goes for Equifax. I just want to purchase hard copies of all three reports and I've already used my freebie for the year thru annual credit report. Does anybody have any direct numbers or any tricks to get this done? I ordered hard copies of my reports a couple years ago and it seemed relatively easy to do then. It seems damn near impossible now.
  6. It seems to me as though this wouldn't work for an old closed TL with Best Buy that I'm using a Goodwill letter on. Account was closed in 2005 but it's reporting a late payment somehow in 2007 and one in 2009??? I just noticed that... hmm. Maybe Goodwill isn't the best approach then. Maybe I can just call the CRA's on this one. Seems like it should be an easy delete. Yeah, i never sent any letters to the OC or anything, i just dealt with the CRA directly. The account number with the last 4 X'd out worked fine. But yeah, it would seem to be an easy dispute via Jack attack with lates reporting after the account was closed. They would likely delete the whole tradeline.. Hopefully.. Orrrr, they might come back with everything "verified," lol.
  7. When I sent out my various disputes, I would just list the account number exactly as it was listed on the hard copy of my credit report. For example: Crap One - Account # 123456789XXXX (I would actually list the "xxxx") It has worked fine thus far.
  8. From what i've read about other folks experiences, typically once it goes through a few collection agencies and it continues to age will finally go away, usually the smaller amount the sooner its not worth it for them. EDIT: But I've also seen people post about debts 10-15 an up that randomly resurface for a moment. All in all it does not take very long to write the letter and its a few bucks in the mail, and its a little extra paper trail if things get out of control with them. Very True. I wonder if anyone has ever just ignored a dunning letter about a zombie debt? With the thought that it just won't be posted to any CRA since it is so old and doing so would be illegal. I guess it just wouldnt be worth the risk of it actually getting reported and then having to take action to get it removed.
  9. The letter I mentioned before is still my recommendation. There are plenty of ways this can show back up on your credit report, though 99.99% of them involve the CA breaking the law or fabricating false information also clearly illegal. Sadly it seems that this tends to happen from time to time. In my opinion the best way to do this is point out that you know the laws and regulations around this, Hopefully they will decide to just drop it. Usually an FOAD includes a form of Cease and desist as well, personally I always prefer the limited (No Phone calls) because I hope for the off chance they mail me evidence that I can use in my favor in one way or another. Which I recently had a CA, mail me copies of an old bill the clearly showed it was over 7 years old, I didn't have any records to prove my claim but they not being smart gave it to me! Ok, thanks for the help. I was reading up on this topic and i came across a hybrid DV/FOAD letter that i might send. This sure is frustrating, especially since i was so excited to finally be done with the OC charge off and i figured i wouldn't have to worry about it anymore since it was past the state SOL and the 7 year reporting limit.
  10. Ok, so you think i should just send a DV letter? Or send a cease and desist? there is no way this can show up on my credit report since the OC account is past the 7 years and has already been removed from all reports due to being obsolete?
  11. Yeah my state sol is 3 years. The oc account was removed earlier this year due to being obsolete.. Now i get this dunning letter for the same account. I just don't want it showing up on my credit report. Especially since the original creditor account was removed for being obsolete.
  12. I received a dunning letter for an account that had been removed as obsolete (the account was older than the 7 years permissable by the fcra).. What is the normal procedure? Just send a dv to the collection agency? Or leave it alone since the OC account they are collecting for is past the 7 year reporting period allowed and had already been removed from all credit reports.
  13. My letter second letter included SSN & DOB with photocopies of SS card, Driver License as well as utility bill. everything they asked for. It's the last 3 negatives. I get no responses from the alleged creditors yet Experian told me to write them after verifying the information back in DEC 2011. I was mailing Experian a copy of those DV's and the green cards. Wanting to know how they verified when the debt had never been validated. That's weird. The letter they sent me doesn't ask for DL, or utility bill.. That's extremely aggravating to know that you sent EVERYTHING they asked you to send to "verify" you are who you say you are and yet you still get a BS "you didn't send enough information" response. I don't get it.. I wonder if there is something that could be done about this practice. It seems like only Experian is doing it since every other letter I have sent to EQ or TU got processed with just name, address, social, and DOB. It's such a waste of time and money to send all of these things CMRRR just to get a response like that back.
  14. That seems to be what you have to do to get Experian to process a dispute.. It's just weird that in their specific instructions about personal info, they don't say to include a copy of your driver's license. It just says full name, DOB, Address, and social.
  15. I got a similar response from them about a week ago. I mailed in a dispute CMRRR to dispute off some obsoletes and they sent back a letter saying "We received a suspicious request regarding your personal credit infromation...etc." They refused to process the dispute since it was deemed suspicious and it was my very first dispute with them ever. The letter they sent said to include my full name, dob, address, and social.. I included all that in my original letter except for my date of birth. What personal information did your letter tell you to include?
