Update. I just checked and there is a new card showing with the Southwest logo and an available amount of $19,000. No email notification yet. So I guess I don't need to call again on Monday. Chase has been good to me. Slate (2016) $1500, Amazon (2017): $3500, Sapphire Reserve (2020): $19,900 and now the Southwest only 4 months later for $19,000. As stated above, building credit is a marathon, not a sprint. Although, I was able to pull off some tricks which made rapid improvement to my score prior to applying for a mortgage, etc. and I learned, and continue to learn from this wonderful forum and kind, helpful and intelligent members here.

Thank you. I will update. I called today. The backdoor number is the reconsideration line, I told the CSR that I had applied and that the auto-process stated a manual review. I told him that I was calling to see if I could provide any missing information to facilitate the process. He transferred me to talk with someone who does the reviews, at which point I got an automated answer stating they were closed for the weekend, to call back during business hours. So, I will call Monday. Thank you for all of the help. I will provide any lessons learned for others to use.

I love this forum. Thank you.

Good advice. I see the logic. Where does one find the backdoor number?

Cool. Good to know. Thank you.

Thanks. This will be my fourth Chase card. I wanted this card before with the big miles bonus, whenI missed it, I got the Sapphire Reserve. I had some big expenses to pay, and the money to pay them but got a nice big points bonus without paying any interest. Looking to do the same with this one. I did the online app, they didn't auto-approve but said they needed to review my account. My record is near spotless, with one dumb error 30 day late nearly 5 years ago (5 years in January). I have tried goodwill lettering this to no avail. Think I'll get it? I want to pay my divorce attorney off soon. Thank you all.

Thank you both. This is great information.

Thank you. I think since I have a payment due which would satisfy the requirement to get the travel miles, and I will likely use Southwest quite often, it should be a good choice for me. Forgive my ignorance though, I may have read this before but don't recall. What is the 5/24? Also I have 3 Chase cards already Slate, Amazon and Sapphire. Do you think this will be an issue?

Hello fellow credit journeyers! I joined this forum 11 years ago while trying to recover from a bunch of bad credit mistakes, including a financially disasterous marriage. I read, studied, learned and practiced and went from the high 500s to the low 800s. During that time I have deleted baddies, built a healthy credit portfolio and gotten divorced. I want to thank you all for everything I have learned here, it has healped me immeasurably and I have in turn helped others and directed some of them here. I have a question about adding to my card portfolio. I have wanted a Southwest Airlines card for some time, but kept missing the big intro miles bonus of 65,000 miles. Well, they are offering 80,000 miles now (9K of purchases and either $69 or $99/year depending on which card). I have 6 cards with limits ranging from an insulting $1000 from Cap One (obtained 06/2019) to the rest ranging from 8k to 20k. I added a total of 3 in 2019, 1 in 2020 and the rest are a bit older with one about 13 years old. My credit report has 2 line of credit loans and a car loan. My total current utilization ranges from <1% to maybe 5% for brief periods. My total credit reports from 60-80K depending on the report. I have from 2- 4 hard inquiries. I added a Chase Sapphire Preferred card this year for 20K. Do you think this is a good time to get this Southwest card? I was thinking of getting rid of the Cap One card of $1K. How much of a hit might I experience from another new card decreasing my average age of accounts? I need to pay my lawyer off for the divorce, so the Southwest card will get the 80K miles right away. Any advice?

Thank you for your responses, sorry I have been slow to return, but had some connectivity issues. Cashnocredit, I will use that in my research. BJrdalbk that is a good point as I have signed nothing. Vettecor I am thinking that I may need to enlist an attorney. The amount they claim I owe is about $30k. The bulk of that was from a 2001 return. I had filed a late return, they took a couple of the subsequent refunds (my cpa has demonstrated this) plus a couple of other issues. We have only been able to get so far up the ladder. If I can resolve 2001 that will eliminate the bulk of the bill due to the interest and penalties accrued. My wife was very ill as this was developing, and I am now trying to deal with this. Thanks again.

I have been helped tremendously by CB over the years, and have used it to help/referred others to this great resource as well. I Have a problem that may require some help from another source. I have a tax lien from the IRS for taxes that they claim that I owe from 2001 plus some of the intervening years. Much of it should be out of statute, but they claim that I waived the statute. Anyone have recommendations for the best resources for preparation similar to CB? Thank you CBers, because of you I am clean except for this.

Wow, what a run. Great job and congrats!

Okay, Thanks. Is this true if the TL was deleted by the CRA, or only if the CA/OC withdrew?
-
Thanks.

Do both the CA and the CRA have a requirement for notification? If the TL was disputed off and then reinserted by another CA does this still require notification? In other words, BUMP.
