FWIW I just had to order a replacement card since I damaged the old one. The replacement card has a slightly modified design and IMO looks a little classier than the old one. The MasterCard hologram/logo is now the silver style like on the Chase Continental Onepass World card instead of the red/orange MasterCard Logo and the graphics on the front are the same but black on blackish grey. I always thought the silver style MasterCard hologram/logo was classier looking, and I guess the blacker a card is the better it is, right??? Anyway it makes this already nice looking card look a little nicer IMO so you might want to request a replacement card if you are into classy card appearance. Otherwise, The airline credit benefit TOTALLY does not seem to be working. I'm going to have to call them on that issue. But the main reason I got for though it was for the Priority Pass and I am burning that benefit to the ground. Even without United/Continental lounges I have hit up 18 lounge visits at airports all over the world in the first 10 months I had this card so the $150 annual fee is surly about the best $150 I ever spent. Love this card

Remember to call them and ask them to send it to you next day mail. Overnight delivery of cards is free with this one if you request it.

Its not on your list but IMO Schwab Bank is hands down the best for foreign ATM usage. No forex fee, no off network ATM fee, they rebate any ATM fee charged by a foreign bank, no minimum balance, no monthly fees, basically 100% free. No cost at all for foreign ATM usage. Not even the 1% Visa forex fee. Plus high daily withdrawal limit, cool Android and I-Phone app with phone photo check depositing, free ACH transfers to/from your other bank accounts, free checks. What's not to like about them? If you travel out of the country much at all it is worth it to open a free Schwab Bank account just for that reason.

I'm really loving Chase Sapphire Preferred. Booking ANY airline with Travelocity through Ultimate Rewards Mall is 5 UR points per dollar total and those convert one for one to United miles which are very valuable IMO. Not to mention the 50k signup bonus. Miles are my life, and I'm a HUGE fan of Chase Sapphire Preferred after a few weeks in my pocket.

That's nothing. Discover has softed my EQ 43 times so far this year and my TU 41 times. 84 total soft pulls so far in the calendar year 2011. PRM pulls, I don't even have an account with them any more. There has been a roughly equal number of offers mailed to me by Discover. At least a couple of times a week for months now. It's kind of like a crazy ex girlfriend stocking me. Mine, just received, has my name on the front, plus the name and number on the back. Its shown with the name on the front in the example in the middle of the page on http://www.chasesapphire.com/ so I assume that is the current 'normal'.

Another tip. I called up and added my girlfriend as an authorized user. I like her, shes nice, but no way in a million years would I give her access to my credit lines. Sadly, she has no credit cards of her own for very good reasons. So I shredded her AU MC the second it came to my house. But she did get her own Priority Pass card in her name as well, which I did give her. No extra cost for the extra Priority Pass card.

The Master Credit Sesame National Equivalency Score Thread
Riled replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
EQ FICO 767 TU FICO 772 EX PLUS 764 (free from expiriandirect.com with US Bank card) creditkarma 787 creditsesame 739 So I'd say creditsesame remains a good 20-30 points low for me. Thus I do not like creditsesame. -
I received my card at my office UPS overnight express less tha 24 hours from when I call and asked to have it overnighted. Amazing service!!! As for the material the card is made of, since I work with metals for a living I would guess it to be a martensitic stainless steel. I could not give an exact answer as to its composition without sending it over to our QA department for destructive analysis but if I were wagering I would put my money on it being 410 stainless steel based on the magnetic properties, weight, stiffness, form factor etc. Since I travel overseas extensively in countries where airport security are even more boneheaded than our own brain damaged TSA airport morons, I have to wonder when it will be declared to be a terror weapon at some security checkpoint. It is very cool none the less and it absolutely draws comments and attention when you hand it to someone.

I've been banned by TU a couple of times for pulling to many back doors. It seems to last about a month or so and then back to normal. If you pull one back door you can initiate but not complete an online dispute 3 times and get 3 more updated reports that way before you have to pull another backdoor so it spaces them out a little more.

All Chase Sig cards are now showing limits when they report. Since sometime last month. I think its awesome since these are my highest limits and PIF. I'm sure others see it quite differently though.

Thanks for that great tip. I was finally approved yesterday so I just called them today and asked to have the card overnighted to my office. Sure enough, "no problem mr Riled. We'll get that to your office by tomorrow". Wow!! I really don't even like Chase but I'm really liking this card and I haven't even got it yet. It's actually VERY useful they can overnight it because I have ~$1,000 in IT purchases to make for my employer that I can expense and be reimbursed for but I can only hold off making those purchases for a day or two. That will knock out $1,000 of the $3,000 to get the 50k points in the first 5 minutes after I activate the card. Life is good. BTW. Chase certainly does have a loooooonnnnngggg memory. When I asked to have the card sent to my office instead of my home they said "no problem we just have to ask some security verification questions to send it to an alternate address. Fair enough and typical. So she said she would read off a list of addresses and I say which ones were former addresses of mine. The first one I recognized was an apartment I lived in for 6 months in 1992. the second one was a house I lived in for about 9 months in 1989. Neither appears on any of my credit reports and never has since I never had credit at those addresses. I'm guessing they pulled them from LexisNexis or something but Chase sure as heck knows exactly where I lived for a few months back in the 1980's.

To be clear the pre-selector is neither a hard or a soft. It merly checks to see if Cap One has previously already pulled a PRM soft on you. I carefully monitor my softs. Cap One hasn't pulled me for over 2 years. I have a 760 FICO. When I use the "pre-selector" I get "we couldn't match your records to a card offer. But based on your answers, we think you might like this card. VentureOne Rewards" No pull ever results. Hard or soft. If you get a positive response that means Cap One has previously looked at you and has an offer for you. Such as it might be. For the record Cap One was my first unsecured card in 1993. They rate jacked me in 1994 despite perfect payment history with them and everyone else. I PIF and closed in 1994 and never looked back and have boycoted them to this day over that.

Followup. After calling all over the world and talking to all kinds of people in Chase checking, no one anywhere can find any record of any of my checking accounts being anything other than closed in good standing with zero balance. I kind of got tired of it and then was out of the country for 2 weeks so I only just today got back around to going another round with the credit department over this $8 negative phantom balance. So today I called back and got a nice lady who just put me on hold for a few minutes, came back and said Sapphire Preferred approved for $8,000. No hassle this time over the $8 phantom balance. Not really that great a limit but I'll take it. This will probably become my primary card. I have a Chase Continental card with a $13,000 limit I will probably close before the annual fee is due in a couple of months so I'll try to combine the limits to the Sapphire Preferred card when I close the other card, which would make for a much nicer limit I they will do that. Still no idea where this $8 negative phantom balance comes from but I suppose I request paper copies of my checking accounts' closing statements be sent to me just to put that issues to rest.
