  1. 20 pages was the most.... Joe
  2. Perhaps a link to the Means test with a better explanation of how it works in different situations. From what I've read here and around the web this topic is very misunderstood. Also a link to the IRS guidelines for expenses would be nice and I believe that it would allow your clients to propose a more realistic budget. Some examples of common expenses that are used in Ventura county by some of your other clients that have been discharged would probably also help a lot of filers. Joe
  3. Just some feedback for you as per your request: You are “judgment proof.” You may not have any wages or property that your creditors would be allowed to take from you. People who fit this description are often referred to as “judgment proof”. “Collection proof” would be a better description, because your creditors can still file a lawsuit and obtain a judgment against you; they just cannot enforce the judgment against you and collect any money. “Judgment proof” individuals are typically senior citizens on a fixed income who do not own many assets or a home. Even if you are considered “judgment proof”, considering bankruptcy options can be helpful to stop future lawsuits or creditor harassment. This is good, most attorney websites leave this out. Bankruptcy’s primary purpose is to protect you from your creditors and provide relief by giving you an opportunity to reorganize or eliminate your debts. This sentence appears twice in the Should you file section. Did you know that? Chapter 13 is commonly referred to as the “reorganization” bankruptcy. It’s filed for many reasons – most commonly to save a home from foreclosure, stop IRS collection or to consolidate debts into a single monthly affordable payment. Another common reason is that the individual is unable to file a chapter 7 for some reason. Under the FAQ,the disclosures section is good. You don't see that very often. It's usually just an I am not your attorney kind of thing. The way you have written it is better IMO. I've seen more informative/educational websites, but I believe that what you have now will serve your purpose. Good Luck, Joe
  4. I am currently 15 months in default with NFCU. They are currently offering 50% to settle on a 25k balance. I don't know about PFD, but I don't think that it's likely. Hope this helps with your question. Joe ETA: the 50% offer came from them, I've never submitted an offer.
  5. Check out this discussion on debt settlement- http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=383818 Good luck, Joe
  6. Have him check with the Veteran's Administration....There are some qualifications that he will need to meet, but it's possible to get free dental care from the VA( I do). Joe
  7. This is the one that I use the most. I like it because it has a mix of different kinds of investors and you can get advice on anything.... Joe
  8. I thought Snoop Dogg was the happiest man in America.... Joe
  9. +1 for the Rikkar, I love it. Stay away from the Die soon. Everyone that I know that has one has had problems. Joe
  10. MPM= My Privacy Matters Joe
  11. I second the recommendation of Shane as well, He's a miracle worker... Joe
  12. It was 82 here yesterday...unseasonably warm for this time of year. Joe
  13. I use a program called PDAnet on my droid for internet access-you can get it in the app store. There is a one time fee of like $25 or something after the free trial. I've been using it for about 8 months now. It works, but will probably be slower then your current DSL. Joe
  14. I would contact a mortgage broker if I were you. Ask them about their experience with VA loans before hand. My VA loan was tricky and I was lucky to get a mortgage broker that understood them. I used someone from this board for my loan and it went well- you might want to consider the same. Joe
  15. I have a Keurig and love it. I bought a reusable filter for like $6 and use my own coffee in it. The K-cups are readily available at numerous retailers, but the best prices are found online for large purchases. One thing that I don't like is the quality of the hot chocolate(too watery for my tastes). I've found that putting my own cocoa into the mug and then just running the water through the machine works fine though. All in all I really enjoy my Keurig and do not regret my purchase. Hope this helps, Joe
