  1. I had 2 old checking accounts that were in the process of being closed. One had $11 in it and my husband accidentally wrote a check for $45 (he pulled the wrong check blank from his pocket). I recently lost my job and couldn't afford to pay the more than $100 in fees for it. I figured I would wait to receive my tax return. The bank will not work with me, and each day it kept accruing more and more fees. I told them, I cannot pay and I wanted to pay the $34 I actually owed and one fee. No dice. So I just left it and now it forced closed with a balance of -$400 or more. We are filing for Chapter 7 BK in a few months so our credit will be shot anyway. Should I worry about this? I won't be having a banking relationship with them again. I currently have a credit union and also an ING account as a back-up. The same thing happened with my other account at Chase. I still had 2 automatic debits that are infrequent so I forgot to change them in time. What bothers me is that the balance was 0. Why couldn't they just decline the payments? It was all very bad timing as far as job loss, etc. Our income isn't even 1/2 of what it used to be. With these 2 accounts, what problems should I expect? Will the balances be included in the bankruptcy?
