Ok, so I'm out with some of my employees at a 'thank you' dinner last Sat the 25th. I go to pay the bill with my Corp. Amex card and the card is declined. WTF? I call AMEX and the CSR says there's a security hold on my account and they just needed to verify that I was using the card. ok no problem, They remove the hold and everything is fine until yesterday. I get this letter in the mail from AMEX dated the 25th: Dear Way2Deep, Your charge privileges have been suspended due to the status of the American Express Card relationship with your corporation. As a result, new charges will be declined on the above account. WTH? So I call AMEX...again. The CSR tells me "Your account is active and in perfect standing" This is crazy, so the same day they put a "security hold" on my account they ALSO suspended my charge privlileges? The card is active however I'm not waiting for lightning to strike twice, won't be using this card anymore. It's unfortunate as we have 30K in server upgrades that were to go on the AMEX. I'm not sure what's going on there, but it seems they are dumping employees AND customers.

I'm thinking they should change some of their slogans, below are some of my ideas: Your Life. Our Card. Tough profanity removed. Long Live Dreams (until we get around to crushing them) American Express. Do More with less credit. Make life rewarding, as long as your not using our card to do it. Please Leave Home Without It

That is funny, I would much rather them call me....even on Sunday but I do understand the logic in calling the employeer instead. I would pay the Amex bill before paying any other bill I have if I needed to.
-
I wouldn't worry about it too much. There was no credit check for me when I was given the card and there is no trade line (even as a authorized user) on my CRs.
-
Minimum is the balance on the card, no biggie. Just threw me for a loop that in 10 years the've NEVER called that early. Sign of the times I guess. I will be more prudent in paying them ASAP.
-
Short story, I have a CORP. AMEX card that I have had since 1998, I use the card routinely for purchases big and small (some work related, some not). I'm not sure how their general credit cards work but with this card I have never had a problem with late fees, calls, etc. as long as the balance was paid within 30 days of the closure of the previous billing cycle. We'll times are a CHANG'IN, I am now 7 days past the end of the previous billing cycle and they called my work!!!! HOLY CRAP!!! Lucky for me I have a awesome admin, and there are no problems on the work front but DANG! 7 days!!!!!!!

You have a good point. But I have to admit...I can't help but kiss my kitty. There's only one 'kitty' Jake will kiss and it can't lick itself. As far as animals go... too many germs for me. ...and its a good thing too. I can see the headlines now..."Mens ability to get a date gone...FOREVER...film at 11." I'm sweet!!!! Just ask me. If you could reach yourself... would you? who wouldnt Seriously, was that a trick question?? I would never leave the house. Is it gay if your with yourself? Memosexual? -
Not necessarily. Not when you factor in illegal aliens. Touche
