  1. Wow...I just posted almost the exact same on another thread...my FICO dropped about 70 pts. due to the Verizon charge-off when I cancelled my land line. Keep us updated on how you make out...I'll do the same.
  2. Any information anyone can provide regarding Verizon and "pay to delete"/goodwill situations would be appreciated! My (100+ point-dropping) little tale of woe (yes, most definitely my fault for not being proactive, but after 16 years as a loyal customer, I was a little surprised at how quick they were to narc me out In September I cancelled the "home phone line" portion of my Verizon bundled services as well as the Directv service, while maintaining my FiOS service. After receiving a notice from a CA, I realized that a final bill had been issued on my "old account", instead of the balance migrating to the "new account" that was created when I cancelled the phone line. I called Verizon for verification in November and to dispute the amount of the final bill (which was incorrect due to credits not applied). They agreed to issue the credits and issue a revised final bill. Did not receive the bill, and the electronic statements for this account were no longer available for viewing online, due to the change in accounts. I Called again in December to dispute the final bill. They apologized, acknowledged that a credit was due and said a final bill would go out, but that I should pay the amount showed as due immediately, because it was already in collections, and then wait for a refund. (I did make a half-hearted attempt to pay through Verizon's automated system but they could no longer call the account up). With a swiftness, Verizon reported the account as a charge-off in December (ironically, using the correct amount due that I had been trying for 2 1/2 months to get them to acknowledge). FICO dropped from the 708 range to TU-628, EQ-663, EX-581. The CA has not reported this account yet. Is there any hope for me in pleading my case to Verizon, especially since I am still a loyal customer? Thanks!
