An attempt to circumvent E-OSCAR

I would also highly recommend OpenSky visa issued by Capital Bank. Why? Application does not result in a hard inquiry (automatic approval) Does NOT report as Secured Reports as Capital Bank (parent bank name), which looks reputable (e.g. for any manual review). However, please keep in mind: It does not "graduate" or unsecure like BofA, etc. (if this is important to you). Thanks!

Congrats on the initial success! Very interesting overall! I sent a PM regarding paper, etc. Will be glad to test this approach as well and report back the results. From what I understand, the days of various tricks like this are mostly gone but I will try nonetheless... Thanks!

Trying to work w/ Creditors, Chase is ruining it.
seattlecredit replied to BumbleBeeJBG's topic in Credit Forum
I am not familiar with the criteria that Chase uses to decide which chargeoffs to pursue with a lawsuit-- perhaps someone else can chime in. One aspect that has not been brought up is that negative history on your two accounts may result in other credit card issuers balance chasing you or outright closing your accounts not due to missed payments but due to lowered FICO scores at the time of the account review. At some point previously I had this happen to me-- despite having a 100% perfect payment history over almost 10 years, Discover balance chased me for two months and then closed my account completely, all due to lowered FICO scores. Thanks!! -
Alliant Credit Pre-qualify and Pre-approval Member Offers
seattlecredit replied to StarkRaven$'s topic in Credit Forum
Related question on this--- For credit card products, does Alliant now pull TU? I think it used to be EQ for everything but I think now EQ for joining but TU for the actual card products/loan products, is that the case? Thanks!! -
Question: When something like this happens (hopefully not, of course), what type of a timeframe will Chase give to pay the balance on the closed cards, e.g. $80,000.00 in this case? Thanks!!

High Limit Credit Cards Based on Equifax Score
seattlecredit replied to seattlecredit's topic in Credit Forum
From looking into this, it does appear that people have been reporting that HSBC pulls EQ. I know that in their earlier version (the one they sold to Capital One), it was primarily a subprime product (i actually used to have long time ago as a rebuilder when I could not get anything else) but I think the new HSBC card is different and perhaps it does offer a higher limit. Has anyone received recently a high limit from HSBC? Thanks! In regards to the the limit I dont know if it made a difference but I opened an Advanced checking account (10k min.) and was informed I was pre-approved for the Advance card. I received a $15,750 Cl with a 4 year CO still on EQ. Interesting. What would be the general consensus-- would opening HSBC checking account increase the chances of getting a larger limit? (Ideally, I would prefer not to open another checking account if I can avoid it...) Thanks! -

I had the same thought as people have reported Citi using EQ in many cases. So I tried to app for two different Citi cards, Citi Double Cash and Citi Expedia. No go in both cases as both Citi cards tried to pull EX. Thanks! -

High Limit Credit Cards Based on Equifax Score

I think this strategy generally makes sense. In my case specifically, I would like to establish at least 3-4 solid revolvers if I can this time around and then garden for a while (there are specific reasons for this). I have identified also the following potential candidates based on the credit pulls database as well as other posts: Fidelity Rewards - I called them and apparently you don't need to have a Fidelity account to apply for this card. If anyone has any recent experience with applying for this card, I would be curious to know. SunTrust Cash Rewards - This is a regional bank so an in-person app would be required. There are some other oddball cards out there that appear to be heavy EQ pullers and who may give large limits like Banco Popular but no solid information on them. So still looking.... Thanks! -

Makes sense. I just don't have a way to get into NFCU... To update on my mini-spree journey so far: PenFed: Was approved for $10,000.00. As expected, they pulled EQ. Required to get on the phone and send some documents. As I understand $10,000 is their their max for new customer.s Comenity Total Rewards: Applied online, got the message about two weeks. Got the alert that EQ was pulled by them. Called them but they said they don't have any more information. Not sure if this means a denial or not. Does this sound like a denial? BofA Cash Rewards: As mentioned above, could not force them to pull EQ. Discover: They closed my account based on their AR about two years ago. They used TU for their AR at the time, which had two major derogs and they closed my account despite my perfect payment history for > 5 years. When I reluctantly tried Discover SP prequalification today, I received the message that I am not qualified based on the status of my old account. So I am guessing I am blacklisted by Discover. Does anyone know for how long Discover blacklisting lasts? Summary: 1 out of 3 1 unsure All other card suggestions (EQ pullers) are welcome. I will update the board on my results. Thanks!! -

yes, you need to call the UW number. https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=447943&p=5725419 Thanks, this is exactly what was needed. So update-- Credit specialist did say that in cases like this, they can pull another report (e.g. in my case they first pulled EX which was frozen/blocked). However, at this time, they can only pull EX or TU but NOT Equifax. The specialist was very polite and said that as of now, BofA stopped using Equifax completely (at least for this credit product, Cash Rewards card). They did say that they used to be able to do this with Equifax but not anymore. So all in all-- a no go for me with BofA but for anyone else out there who wants to choose between EX and TU, this strategy will work (first freeze all reports, then apply online, then call the backdoor number and unfreeze either EX or TU to their choosing). I will keep looking.... I am now reviewing Alliant CU as an option... Thanks! -
High Limit Credit Cards Based on Equifax Score

I have looked at Huntington extensively -- one of the limitations is that you need to have a checking account with them to apply for a credit card product and in order to open a checking account, you need to be living in one of the states they service. If you don't live in one of those states, it's not possible to open a checking account online. Thanks again! -

Thanks, will give BofA a shot and will update the board. One question-- if I freeze the other two and call BofA and they ask me why I have let's say EX frozen, what is a good standard answer for this? Thanks. They won't ask. Just tell them that you are having trouble unfreezing it, and would they mind pulling Equifax instead, since you know for sure that one isn't frozen. But they won't ask. To update-- applied online for BofA Cash Rewards card. I received an immediate decline and an immediate alert that an inquiry request for EX from BofA was blocked. I called the main number listed on BofA Cash Rewards website (800 932 277 5 ) and was told that they have no way to try another bureau and that the letter will be sent in the mail. Perhaps I need to wait for the letter and then call a different number? Or did they perhaps change their practices making it impossible to request Equifax? Thanks!! -

High Limit Credit Cards Based on Equifax Score

On the other bureaus, my scores are significantly lower, around 600-650 (versus 770 or even higher on Equifax, depending on FICO model). This is due to a specific one negative account, which I have been fighting during the last 6 months but which will unlikely change in status for at least year. Hence, I am looking to focus on Equifax in my mini app spree. At the moment, I only have one open revolver and I am an authorized user on two accounts with generous limits. My file, however, is not thin and goes back many years with a number of positive (but closed) trade lines reporting. In addition to the list above, I did also also see Comenity TotalRewards based on the credit pulls database as a likely EQ puller with some people reporting higher limits. However, I feel there has to be more credit card products out there then the list above. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
