  1. Guys/ Gals, I need to figure out what to do as I am about to apply for a loan for a second business and I don't want these showing up on my report. Thanks, Josh
  2. Anymore thoughts? It's possible if you close an account but still owe money on the card. The bank will continue to report to the CRA's until the debt is paid. This is understandable, however I never had a balance on this card past the close date.
  3. Hmm, so I should just dispute it as obsolete? Should I do that now? Note that the assigned date is 2005, which is only 5 years? Myfico.com shows a date last active of 2003. Any advice on my TU that is showing the lates for Best Buy that was closed 5 years prior? I mean obviously this isn't even possible to be late on a closed card with $0 balance. Thanks all! PS: I own a business so my credit score is VERY important and I will be applying for a very large loan in the next year. -Josh
  4. Hi all, as advised I paid for all 3 of my hard copy reports. Here is the results to the above issue: EXPERIAN Vantage Score = 740, Prompt Recovery Services Date Opened Nov 2005 Reported Since Jan 2010 Date of Status Jan 2010 Last Reported Apr 2010 Type Collection Terms 1 month Responsibility Individual Credit Limit or Original Amount $15 Status = Collection account. $15 past due as of Apr 2010 Account History = Collection as of Apr 2010, Jan 2010 This account is scheduled to continue on record until Sep 2010. Original creditor: SS G/Merida EQUIFAX Score = 684 Collection Agency Information Prompt Recovery Services, Inc; Collection Reported 4/2010; Assigned 11/2005; Creditor Class - Medical/Health Care; Client - SS G Merida; Amount - $15; Status as of 4/2010 - Unpaid; Date of 1st Delinquency 12/2003 Balance as of 4/2010 - $15; Individual Account. TRANSUNION Score = 732 Nothing reported about the medical bill, however TU shows a 30 and 60 day late on an HSBC BEST BUY account. It shows the late occurred on 4/2008 but the account has been closed since 7/2005. How is this possible? Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. I am receiving no phone calls or letters. Thanks, Josh
  5. That's weird, I can't imagine I didn't pay a $15 medical bill, definitely not like me. Can you give me links to where I can order paper reports from Experian, TU, and Equifax? There is so much crap out there that I wanna make sure I am getting the correct reports. Thanks, Josh
  6. Hi all, I just pulled my credit report on myfico.com and Equifax is reporting the following: Collection on debt to: Not Reported The collection agency "357yc00000" was hired to collect a debt of $15 originally owed to "Not Reported" on account number "XXXXXXXX5352". What is this and how do I remove it? I have over 700 scores in the past and just pulled myfico a couple of months ago, in fact I have pulled it every couple of months for the past 2 years and this has never been on my report before. Says it is from 2003 and just assigned April 2010? Please help, Josh
  7. I called them 3 times tonight and got 3 different reps. All 3 were salamanders. After all the reading I did, all I heard was how much they push CreditBuilder and how negotiable the price is and my experience was totally different. All 3 said that the most they could give off is 10% and NONE of them wanted to help me. I asked what CreditBuilder will do for me, etc and they pretty much just wanted to get me off the phone. I am willing to pay the money as I have some suppliers with large tradelines not reporting, however I can't get a helpful rep or at least one that will show me a tangible advantage to paying the $500. Can anyone suggest a rep or give advice on how to get the price lower than $450? Thanks, -Josh
  8. Table is a VALID tag in the XHTML standard... VALID for "tabular data"; not for layouts.
  9. No personal harm intended. You chose to get started in this thread from the beginning and vigilantly defended your prices and I am just saying I was a bit shocked that you are getting those prices after looking at your portfolio. I mean it is good for you; if you can charge it and the customers are happy then that is what ultimately matters. I do not have time nor want to get in a CSS debate; but after much extensive reading on the subject I STRONGLY disagree for many reasons... page load times, SEO (less code for the bots to find the content), standard compliancy and others. The problem with the web and browsers is that no one follows standards! And I am not naive enough to believe that every site is going to validate; although I make mine. Concerning your business website; I take it you don't get a lot of educated clients? See I have the knowledge to design and code my own websites, but I need to focus on other business tasks, so I am looking for the best of the best to take the reigns or at least better than me if I am going to pay for the work. I looked at your source and saw that you didn't even have title or meta tags and that was a red flag for me; although your reasons are legitimate if not a bit shortsighted. For instance, I am a potential customer and I do a search for your company; you come up first but since you have no title tag it just says your web address, and I have to read the subtext that google pulls from your page content to know if I have the right company. Where as it could say "Company Name - Web Solutions blah blah blah". Just one example how SEO can help even if you are not trying to rank #1 for "web design". My opinion is your website should be your crown jewel of what you can do both for design and coding. And leaving those items out and using tables loses me as a potential customer. But I doubt I am your target customer so that might be ok. Again no personal attack was meant and I wish you the best of luck with your business. Sorry if I came off a little brash in my previous posts.
  10. oops double post.
  11. That's a copout, there are many workarounds for to get IE to work with CSS. I would LOVE for you to state that at www.sitepoint.com and see what kind of reaction you get. That being said I know not every website is going to validate, that is a pipe dream. These are pretty simple websites too; Amazon was not in her portfolio but John Doe Law Office was. I am not knocking the company or their practices if their customers are happy, I am just saying I was very surprised to see this as she had me sold that maybe I could use her services. I would have demanded a refund if I was given a website designed in tables is all.
  12. Just doubled checked and even your company website is done is tables. I am kinda shocked at the prices you charge considering doing layouts with tables doesn't confirm to current web standards and is overall bad practice. You aren't even using title or description tags on your company website which is a huge misstep if you care at all about seo. The design itself does look nice.
  13. I looked at your portfolio because I am in the market; questions... why are you still using tables for layouts? Also did I read you have won awards? For which websites in your portfolio? These are honest questions as I have an online company but have done all of our design in-house with some outside help and after reading your posts you really sold me.
  14. Thats what I was afraid of. My personal credit is >700 with all 3 CB's but my personal debt to income is not great. Would it be worthwhile to pursue the smaller regional banks and explain my situation or would it fall on deaf ears like the bigger banks? I have $20K in biz credit card lines but I would rather not use those unless I had to.
